My name is Dante Dinkins, and I proudly serve as the Dean of Students at Central High School, supporting our 11th- and 12th-grade students. As a proud Central High School alumnus from the Class of 2008, it is an honor to now serve the school community that played such an important role in my own educational journey.

I am passionate about supporting, advocating for, and uplifting the needs of all our students as they prepare for their next steps, whether that includes college, career, or military readiness.

My educational journey began at Manchester University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies. I then continued my studies at Ohio University, earning a Master of Science in Education, and most recently completed my Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Chicago State University.

I look forward to continuing to serve our students, families, and school community while helping our students reach their full potential.

💡 Family Tip of the Month: Start the School Year Strong! 💡 Family Tip of the Month: Start the School Year Strong!

A successful school year starts with a few simple habits. Families can help by focusing on these three areas:

    📚 Check Grades

    • Families can use Skyward to check their student’s grades, assignments, and academic progress. Checking regularly can help you catch questions or concerns early.
    ⏰ Focus on Attendance
    • Students should be in class and ready to learn by 8:00 AM. Being on time every day helps students avoid missing important instruction and start their day on the right foot.
    🎯Set a Simple Goal
    • Freshmen: Get comfortable with high school, stay organized, and build good study habits.
    • Sophomores: Improve grades, explore interests, and start thinking about future career or college options.
    • Juniors: Stay focused academically, explore college/career opportunities, and begin preparing for life after high school.
    • Seniors: Finish strong, make a plan for after graduation, and take the next steps toward college, a career, training, or another post-graduation goal.
💬 Family Reminder: A goal doesn't have to be big! Sometimes better attendance, improved grades, staying organized, or simply asking for help when needed can make a big difference.
