Message from Mr. Elissetche
Dear BPE Families,
Welcome to September! Thank you for your continued support as we begin another exciting month of learning at Barrington Place Elementary.
Regular and punctual attendance plays an important role in every student’s academic success. Please ensure that your child arrives at school on time and attends each and every day. When students are present and ready to learn, they can fully participate in instruction, build positive routines, and remain connected with their classmates and teachers.
We also invite you to join us for our Open House and Title I Presentation:
Date: Thursday, September 3
Time: 5:00–7:00 p.m.
Location: BPE Cafeteria
We will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. in the cafeteria with our Title I presentation. Following the presentation, families will be dismissed to visit their children’s classrooms, meet with teachers, and learn more about classroom expectations and the year ahead.
We look forward to seeing our BPE families and continuing to work together to make the 2026–2027 school year a successful one for every Bronco.
Thank you for your partnership and continued support!
Sincerely,
Gilberto Elissetche, Principal

UPCOMING TESTING DATES
Parents and guardians, please ensure your child is present and arrives on time for each scheduled testing date. Student attendance is essential to providing an accurate measure of academic progress. Please avoid scheduling appointments or early checkouts on these important testing days.
SCHOOL CAR RIDER AND WALKER ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
CAR RIDER DROP OFF IN THE MORNING AND PICK UP IN THE PM
Dear BPE Families,
The safety of our students, families, and staff remains our highest priority. Please review and follow these important arrival and dismissal procedures:
Please do not drop off or pick up students near the crossing guard locations. Students being picked up by vehicle are considered car riders, and families must use the designated car rider line.
Please do not park along the coned areas on Squire Dobbins. These areas must remain clear so that buses and daycare vehicles can safely access the bus ramp.
Families of Ashford Lake walkers should not drive into the neighborhood or park near the walker dismissal area to pick up students. This creates an unsafe situation and may block access to the homes of neighborhood residents.
Students should not be dropped off or picked up in front of the school on Alston Road. This is unsafe and bypasses the established car rider procedures.
Please do not park in the staff parking lot behind the school to walk your child to the front entrance. This lot is reserved for BPE staff.
We sincerely appreciate your cooperation in following these procedures. Your support helps us maintain a safe and orderly arrival and dismissal process for everyone.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Elissetche or Mrs. Hunter for assistance.
Thank you for helping us keep our Broncos safe!
Sincerely,
BPE Administration
BPE IS A CEP CAMPUS
BPE is one of the Fort Bend ISD Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) campuses, all students will continue to receive free breakfast and lunch daily. Families will not have to complete an application. However, we ask all CEP families to complete the Income Survey at SchoolCafe. This will help ensure our schools continue receiving the funding and support our students deserve. If you need assistance please come to the school front office or contact Mrs. Karla Vargas at karla.vargas@fortbendisd.gov.

Fort Bend ISD Outdoor Play Weather Guidelines
Please be mindful of the temperatures outdoors and ensure that you are following the FBISD Procedures for Outdoor Play (Weather Guidelines). Additionally, please make sure all staff members review the FBISD Recess Guidelines. All students in grades Pre-K through 5 should have the opportunity to participate in at least 30 minutes of recess each day. Recess provides elementary students with valuable opportunities to engage in physical activity, enjoy unstructured play, develop social skills, and support their overall well-being. As a reminder, it is important to keep the following in mind:
Recess is not earned and should NOT be withheld for academic and/or punitive reasons except for severe discipline consequences assigned by the principal or assistant principal (I.e., ISS, OSS).
Recess is 30 minutes. The 30 minutes of recess should include: 10 minutes of recess that must be structured physical activity that has the intent to raise the heart rate (this 10 minutes counts toward the required 135 minutes of physical activity elementary students must get each week required by policy EHAB (LEGAL).) The other 20 minutes of recess should consist of unstructured play time.
The attached FBISD Procedures for Outdoor Play (Weather Guidelines) provide information to campus staff as they plan for outdoor activities such as physical education class, recess, and educational or recreational activities throughout the school day. It should be part of the daily routine in schools to monitor the weather. Campus teachers and staff are encouraged to use weather apps and/or check weather websites when making decisions regarding outdoor physical activity time for students.
Indoor Recess: The Recess Guidelines include guidance and resources for indoor recess.

Dear BPE Families,
Regular and punctual attendance is essential to your child’s academic success. Please review our daily arrival and dismissal times:
- School doors open: 7:30 a.m.
- Morning announcements begin: 7:55 a.m.
- Instruction begins: 8:05 a.m.
- Early pickup cutoff: 2:45 p.m.
- Dismissal begins: 3:25 p.m.
Please ensure your child arrives early enough to be settled and ready for morning announcements. Students arriving late miss valuable instructional time and important information that prepares them for the school day.
To protect the safety of our students and ensure an orderly dismissal, students may not be checked out after 2:45 p.m. Please schedule appointments outside of school hours whenever possible.
Thank you for partnering with us to help every Bronco arrive on time, attend every day, and Saddle Up for Success!
