Comet Connections
Kiker Elementary Newsletter

October 7, 2026
Message from the Principal
Kiker Community,
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents and guardians who joined us for our very first "Apps w/ Abrams"! It was wonderful connecting with you, talking about student progress, and enjoying great conversation over breakfast. If you missed this one, don't worry—mark your calendars for our next gathering on November 5th at 8:30 AM! We would love to see you there, so please save the date where we will have a guest speaker sharing information about internet safety.
This past week, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit several of our classrooms across all grade levels. One of the highlights was getting to watch some of our older students confidently tackle advanced math concepts and conquer their multiplication skills. Seeing their focus, growth, and joy in learning firsthand is always inspiring!
This month, our schoolwide Character Strong trait is Responsibility. Throughout October, we are discussing what it means to take ownership of our actions, our words, and our schoolwork. You can help reinforce this at home by talking with your child about what responsibility looks like outside the classroom...whether that’s packing their own backpack, helping with age-appropriate household chores, or taking care of personal belongings. Partnering together helps these valuable life habits stick!
Thank you for your continued support, involvement!
Warmly,
Ms. Abrams
Principal
🚗If you park in the back of our campus in the morning, please be sure it is not along the curb. We need these spots for busses and emergency vehicles.

Science Fair 2026-2027!
🔬Volunteer!
Parents, We Need You!
It takes many helping hands to make the Kiker Science Fair a success! We’re looking for parent volunteers to judge student projects, assist on judging day, and help with Science Fair & STEM Night setup. There’s a role for everyone—and you don’t need a science background to help unless you are judging. We will kindly ask that judges be in a STEM field or have a STEM background. Please sign up to volunteer by October 16.
