Halloween Fun @ CSDA Last Week
Monthly Theme & Fundraiser Spotlight
November is all about gratitude at CSDA!
This month, we’re focusing on the importance of being thankful and helping our dancers practice gratitude in fun, creative ways. Each dancer will get to decorate a turkey feather with something they’re thankful for, and together we’ll build our Thankful Turkeys and fall leaves to display in the dance room!
To show how thankful we are for our amazing dance family, we’re excited to host Discover Dance Days all month long! Current dancers are invited to explore a new dance style, they aren't currently registered for—absolutely free! Beyond our classic ballet, tap, and jazz classes, dancers can experience something new like hip hop, breakin’, musical theater, lyrical, modern, jumps & turns, or acro. To register, simply log into your Parent Portal, go to “Register,” and select “Trial” under your chosen class.
Monthly Fundraising
November Community: We are collecting food donations for the Plymouth & Bourne Food Pantries! Please bring in a canned or boxed items and leave it on or under the desk in the waiting room. They are always looking for cooking oil, canned or boxed milk, and other ingredients people often need to prepare meals. Don't forget to write down your dancers name to be put into a raffle for some CSDA SWAG!! Donations need to be in by November 21st and Drawing will be on FB November 23rd.

Dancer Spotlight
Our Dancer Spotlight is a monthly feature where we highlight a dancer from our CSDA family.
Each spotlight shares a moment from a dancer’s journey—recognizing the dedication, growth, and commitment they bring into the studio. From our littlest dancers taking their first steps to our adults showing up for themselves, every spotlight reflects the heart of who we are.
We love celebrating dancers at every age and every stage
Outreach Team Spotlight
Outreach Team News
The Center Stage Outreach Team had a great time performing at the Cape Cod Kindness Festival earlier last month!
After the event was postponed, we had a smaller group of dancers representing us with the holiday weekend and several of our dancers away in New Jersey.
Led by Miss Jade, our dancers performed the National Dance Foundation’s National Dance Week Dance Mob and our 2026 finale, “We Are A Family!”
They did an amazing job spreading joy and kindness throughout the community, which is exactly what our Outreach Team’s mission is all about! It was also the first performance of the season for some of our newest Outreach Team members!
Thank you to Miss Jade for leading our dancers and to all our families who participated!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the Trunk or Treat such a success! From our volunteers and trunk families to everyone who donated candy, and our studio teachers who put together such fun choreography, we appreciate all the time and hard work that went into making yesterday so much fun!
A special thank you to Board Member and Event Chair Beth Lopes for organizing this event for the last 5 years!
We loved seeing all the creative trunks and costumes! Don't forget to check out our trunk or treat reel on social media!

Raising Kids Who Show Up for Others: Gratitude Beyond Thank You
November is a month when we hear a lot about gratitude. We encourage our kids to think about what they're thankful for, appreciate what they have, and remember to say thank you. All important things, but I think there's another side of gratitude that we don't always talk about.
It's one thing to teach our kids to appreciate what they have. It's another to teach them to recognize what they can do for others.
As parents and educators, we spend so much time helping kids grow, build confidence, work toward goals, and find success. We want them to have opportunities and feel proud of what they accomplish. But I also think it's important that we teach them to look beyond themselves and recognize that they have something to offer others.
And sometimes, that starts with the smallest things.
At CSDA, some of my favorite moments have nothing to do with dancing. It's watching an older dancer take a younger one under their wing, seeing a student notice someone who needs a friend, watching the joy we bring when performing at a nursing home, or watching the kids hype each other up in class when doing a combo.
Those are the moments that remind me why we do what we do.
One of the things we've always believed at CSDA is that dance provides opportunities to teach lessons that go far beyond our classroom. Being part of a team, learning to work with different personalities, supporting others, and understanding that not everything is about you are all important parts of not just growing up but growing as a person.
And I think gratitude plays a huge role in all of that.
Every year after Halloween, we collect leftover candy from our dancers and families, along with candy from our annual Trunk or Treat, and put together bags to deliver to our local first responders. Our dancers get the opportunity to personally thank the people who show up for our communities every day. We also hold our annual food drive to help local families in need.
Neither thing is complicated, and that's part of the point. Something as simple as sharing extra Halloween candy or bringing in a few items for a food drive can help kids understand that even the small things can make a big difference. More importantly, they get to experience what it means to give back rather than just hearing us talk about it.
Through our Outreach Team and leadership programs, I've had the opportunity to watch so many dancers grow in ways that have nothing to do with their dance ability. I've seen kids who started out simply participating in community events become the ones coming up with ideas, organizing projects, starting their own community outreach, encouraging others to get involved, and taking responsibility for making things happen.
That's the part I love the most. When they start doing these things because they want to, not because someone told them to.
Of course, not every child is going to be the one organizing a project or leading a group, and that's okay too. Sometimes showing up for others means being dependable, offering encouragement, helping someone who is struggling, or simply being kind when no one is watching. Being kind when no one is watching is who we want our kids to be.
In the days of social media and us living in a "performative culture" what we do when no one is watching or applauding is what I think is most important.
I also think we sometimes underestimate how much kids learn by watching the adults around them. When they see their parents volunteering, helping a neighbor, supporting a community event, or taking the time to thank someone, they're learning what gratitude looks like in everyday life.
As we head into Thanksgiving, maybe instead of only asking our kids what they're thankful for, we can also ask them what they did for someone else. Did they help someone today? Did they make someone feel included? Did they recognize someone else's hard work?
It's a simple shift, but one that I think can make a difference.
And since we're talking about gratitude, I want to take a moment to thank our CSDA families.
Thank you for trusting us with your children. Whether you've been with us for years or are just beginning your journey with us, we appreciate the opportunity to be part of their lives.
We know how busy families are and how many choices you have when it comes to your children's activities. The fact that you choose to spend part of your week with us is something we don't take for granted.
Thank you also for supporting the things we do outside of dance classes. Whether it's donating candy, contributing to a food drive, volunteering, driving your kids to an event, or encouraging them to get involved, you help make these opportunities possible.
We love teaching your kids to dance, but we care a whole lot about the people they're becoming.
At the end of the day, I hope we're helping raise kids who not only appreciate what they have but also understand what they can give.
Kids who notice others, include others, show up when someone needs them, and are just kind contributors to their community.
That's something worth being thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving!
With Gratitude,
Miss Tiffany
