Lincoln Elementary is a Title I School. All teachers and paraprofessionals meet the professional qualifications as required by Federal Law. Parents have the right to request the credentials of staff.

As the temperatures start dropping. Here are the guidelines from the North Platte Public Schools Handbook:

RECESS WEATHER GUIDELINES (includes Walking Club)

1. Raining or Snowing – stay indoors

2. Wind chill above 15 degrees – stay indoors

3. Snow on the Ground – Students will go outside; those without boots must stay on the sidewalks or cleared areas. This rule is in place for the health and safety or our students as well as for the cleanliness and maintenance of our school building. Please bring tennis shoes for PE!

4. Students are expected to dress appropriately for the weather. All students go outdoors daily for recess

unless there is inclement weather as stated above.

If your students do not have snow boots or heavy coats please let us know and we can help find you some!

Once our shirts come in we will wear them on the first Friday of every month. There will be a random drawing for students who wear them and a lucky winner will get to go to the Snack Shack!

• Water fountains are still turned off, please remind students to bring a water bottle

• DROP OFF ZONE opens at 7:40 please pull forward and have your child ready to hop out to keep traffic moving.

• DO NOT Park in crosswalks after school. We want to ensure the safety of all students.

• The parking lot between the two playgrounds is STAFF PARKING ONLY please DO NOT park in that area after school.

• Please be on time for school so your child can have breakfast and begin their learning right away. After 9:00 unless a call is made prior your child will not have breakfast.

• If you could put a set of spare clothes in your child's backpack that would be helpful. This way if they have an accident, get wet on the playground, or need a change of clothes we won't have to wait for you to bring a clean set to school.
