With the cold months upon us, just a friendly reminder... our Lil Mustangs enjoy being outside and having that time to run and play with their friends. Unless the temperatures are below 20 degrees, we will be taking the students outside. Please dress your child for the weather.

Hats, gloves, and jackets are necessary to stay warm during these months. If you are in need of any of these items, please let the office or one of our Social Workers know so we can assist your child in obtaining these items.

In case you missed it, Mrs. Figurell, our Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, shared a letter earlier this week informing and explaining a new teacher-created Unit of Study that we will be implementing at the Kindergarten and 1st Grade level for 3rd Quarter. This Unit of Study was designed to meet the reading and writing standards at the Kindergarten and 1st Grade level. Please see the attached letter for more information, if you did not see it earlier this week.

Please see the picture below for information on an annual statewide poster contest for the Illinois Association for Pupil Transportation. I have also linked the guidelines and submission form documents, if your Lil Mustang in interested.

If your Lil Mustang submits a poster, please share a picture of your child and their poster so I can celebrate your Lil Mustang! Thank you, in advance!

Lunch Information

• 1st Grade Lunch/Recess is from 11:10 - 12:05 p.m.
• Kindergarten Lunch/Recess is from 12:10 - 1:05 p.m.

If you are bringing in a lunch for your student, please bring the lunch into the office with your Lil Mustang's name on it.

Hot Lunch Prices and Payment Info:

Homer CCSD #33C offers healthy meals every school day. A lunch, which includes a main entree, a drink, fruit and salad bar costs $4.00 per meal. Additional drink or snack items can be purchased for an additional charge. If you chose to purchase a hot lunch for your Lil Mustang, you can replenish your child's lunch account at pushcoin@homerschools.org.
