Music Ensembles Pre-Contest Event π·π΅
The Maysville music department will hold its Music Ensembles Pre-Contest Event on Friday, March 13th from 10:30am to 3pm.
High School Band and Choir members (and select JH choir singers) will present their solos and ensembles as well as their large ensemble performances to a panel of judges and student judges at the First Baptist Church of Maysville during the day in preparation for the following weekend district contests. This is similar to the event held last year.
Judges will provide students with written and verbal response to their presentations with suggestions of improvements to their performance.
Students will also be given judging sheets with specific musical elements to listen for and provide feedback on several ensembles as well. Our goal is of course to make this an educational event for performers and listeners.
Students will attend this event after the conclusion of spring pictures. Larger instruments and music stands will be transported ahead of time.
Lunch will be provided by the Maysville Music Boosters at the church.
Students from 1st hour and 6th hour band as well as High School Choir members will be involved.
