Welcome Back to School!
Dear Edmunds Elementary Students, Staff, Families, and Caregivers,
How wonderful it has been to welcome students back to the building. From engaged learning in the classrooms, to the bustle of the hallways, to joyful laughter on the playground, EES students are back at it - and smiles abound!
Thank you to all staff members for their dedication toward preparing classrooms and learning for a successful return to school. Thank you, as well, to our fantastic PTO for hosting the Ice Cream Social last Tuesday as well as the Welcome Coffee on the first day of school. Students, families, and staff members have enjoyed meeting and reconnecting as the year has begun. We are fortunate to be part of a participative and supportive community!
Please join me in welcoming all those who are new to the Edmunds Elementary community this year, including our new preschool students whose first day will be this Tuesday, September 2. We are looking forward to getting to know you.
The Edmunds Elementary Buzz will be sent out bi-weekly. Thank you for becoming familiar with the contents of each issue, as it will contain important updates and information. Listed below are upcoming dates to know as well as information pertinent to the beginning of the school year. Please be sure to mark your calendars for these dates, including the PTO Welcome BBQ this Friday, September 5, and Open House on Thursday, September 18.
Reach out to the school office at (802) 864-8473 with any questions - we will be happy to help!
I look forward to working together in partnership this year.
Warmly,
Michelle Basile
Principal

Returning Student Registration
To maintain the most up-to-date information about our students, we ask families to verify and update the information of all returning students, every year. If you have yet to update information for your student(s) for this year, please be sure to complete the Returning Student Registration forms in the PowerSchool Parent Portal this week.
Attendance
School begins at 8:10am each morning. Thank you for making every effort to ensure your student arrives to school on time. If your student arrives after 8:10am, please direct them toward the main entrance to obtain a pass from the front office. If your student will be absent, please be sure to email or call the office (802) 864-8473 by 9:00am. Emailing your student's teacher as well is helpful; however, contacting the office is a must, as teachers may not be able to check email during teaching hours. Thank you!

Welcome Back BBQ Potluck
It was so wonderful to see so many new and returning faces at the Ice Cream Social and Coffee PTO events this week! We’ve got one more welcome event to start the year - the PTO Welcome BBQ Potluck and we will need some volunteers to help.
Please join us at the Edmunds Elementary Welcome BBQ Potluck on Friday, September 5th from 5:30pm - 7:00pm on the Edmunds Field. Families welcome!
If you are able, please bring a dish to the Potluck: PreK-2nd grade families usually bring a side dish or salad and 3rd-5th grade families bring a dessert. If you have children in both groups, feel free to pick just one.
You may want to bring a blanket or lawn chairs, as well as a water bottle, for the evening. Hamburgers, veggie burgers, and all beef/kosher hot dogs will be provided by the PTO.

Burlington School District Resources
Several documents were shared in August that are important to be familiar with. If you have yet to see the BSD Elementary School Family Handbook and the BSD Restorative Code of Conduct, please click on the links below. They serve as important resources regarding school and programming, policies and procedures and contain answers to many questions students, families, and caregivers may have about guidelines and requirements.
