Dear DMS Families,

It is hard to believe that June has arrived, and we are down to just three weeks of school. We have a lot going on in the final days of school, beginning with our Career Days on Tuesday and Thursday of next week. Thank you to the many of you who offered to present to our students next week, as well as to Mr. Andrade for organizing both days. Career Day will take place on Tuesday for Grades 5 and 6, and Thursday for Grades 7 and 8.

We also have two concerts happening next week. On Monday, our chorus students will perform at DRRHS at 7:00 p.m. This will be following the Beckwith concert, so please do not arrive much earlier than Ms. Lopez asks, as we will need time for the auditorium to clear out prior to our start. Our band concert will take place on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at DRRHS. We look forward to seeing everyone next week and celebrating all of the hard work of our music students.

The week will finish with our PTO sponsored Color Run on Friday. Please be sure to see below for how to register your child. Our baseball and softball seasons will also end on Tuesday. We are so proud of both teams. This season has been challenging with all of the rain, but we hope to finish strong with our two make- up games early next week.

Below you will find information on Band/Chorus sign- ups for 2025-2026, the Scholastic BOGO Book Fair that ends Tuesday, and Behn Volleyball Camp. You will also find information on the DR SEPAC Board Elections, the PTO's June Newsletter, the DR Summer Experience and other fliers from the community.

Have a great week! Please also find our June Wellness Newsletter.

Please also complete it more than once if you have multiple children who will take band and/or chorus in middle school. The survey will close as of Friday morning, June 20th.

If you have any questions, reach out to Mr. Brundage (band) or Ms. Lopez (chorus).

Reminder to Families Reminder to Families

Dear DR Families,

As you may know, Massachusetts now provides free breakfast and lunch for all students across the Commonwealth!

We are encouraging families who may have qualified for the National Free & Reduced School Lunch Program in the past to complete the online application. This helps determine eligibility and ensures that we can continue to offer reduced or waived fees for various programs and activities. When completing the application, please remember to include consent for sharing your status with relevant departments and programs.

Without this qualification and your consent, we will be unable to provide reduced or waived fees.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Technology Repair Fees Technology Repair Fees

Dear Families,

We hope this message finds you well. As part of our commitment to maintaining our technology resources, we wanted to inform you about our updated repair fee structure. This will go into effect on October 28, 2024. These fees help us cover the cost of repairs when school-issued devices are damaged due to misuse or carelessness. The fees are divided into three tiers, depending on the extent of the damage:

  • Level 1: Charger, Cover (top or bottom), Touchpad, etc- $40
  • Level 2: Keyboard, Monitor- $75
  • Level 3: Total Loss/Replacement- $300

We encourage students to handle their devices with care to avoid any damage and the associated costs. If a device does require repair, the appropriate fee will be communicated to you along with the steps to resolve the issue.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support in keeping our technology in great condition!

In addition, if your child needs Chromebook repairs, you will receive an email directly from mySchoolBucks regarding payment.
