Reading "The Outsiders" ππ
Eighth grade students in Ms. Wilhelm's class read "The Outsiders" and each chose a character from the book to reflect on. Students decorated posters of the character and identified character traits, strengths, goals, values/beliefs and a challenge they faced. They also selected three direct quotes that were impactful in the book. Their completed posters are displayed in the hallway!

Safety Week ππ
Monday, October 5 - Friday, October was Safety Week at Falk-Mullen! Several organizations visited the school and gave interactive presentations to students about their roles in helping the community. Students participated in lots of safety-themed activities including an obstacle course, fingerprinting, practicing calling 911, etc. Thank you to the North Evans fire department, Buffalo FBI/SWAT team, Reach Out to 911 dispatchers and Detective Kalczynski with K9 Officer Poppy for teaching our students all about safety and the important responsibilities you have to protect our community!
Conducting Experiments ππ§ͺ
Ms. Smith's second grade class conducted a fun science experiment involving pumpkin candies. Students made several hypotheses about what would happen to a pumpkin candy when dissolved in four liquid solutions: Pepsi, distilled white vinegar, water and vegetable oil. They excitedly recorded their observations and drew pictures of their conclusions.

Third and Fourth Graders Explore the Magic Treehouse ππ³
Ms. Smith and Ms. White collaborated to bring the "Magic Treehouse" to life for third and fourth graders. Students gathered in the "treehouse" to listen to a couple chapters from the infamous book series. They were then transported through time to the medieval and Jurassic period where students completed various literacy activities throughout the auditorium. Thank you to everyone who assisted with creating this interactive learning experience for our students!
