Tiger Update
Information about Pickerington High School Central (9/26/26)
Message from Mr. Parker
Greetings Tiger Nation,
Week 8
This week, we get to celebrate Homecoming Week! 🏈
And Monday, we kick things off with our Homecoming Pep Rally! There is nothing quite like the energy, pride, and school spirit that comes with Homecoming Week. It’s a great reminder that we are more than a school—we are a team, and we are kicking off the week celebrating this together!
We also have another incredible accomplishment to celebrate. Three of our Tigers have been named National Merit Commended Scholars! ⭐
Being named a Commended Scholar is a tremendous honor. It recognizes students who have demonstrated exceptional academic promise, achievement, and commitment to excellence on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Out of the hundreds of thousands of students who enter the National Merit Scholarship Program each year, only a select group are recognized as Commended Scholars.
So, to our three Commended Scholars: CONGRATULATIONS! This is a BIG deal! Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence have earned you a distinction that you should be incredibly proud of. You are representing yourself, your family, and Tiger Nation at a very high level. We celebrate you! 🐯⭐
But just like every great team, we have to know when it’s time to turn the celebration into competition mode.
The end of the first quarter is October 9th—just two weeks away. That means now is the time to LOCK IN.
Think about it like a team entering the fourth quarter of a close game. You don’t look at the scoreboard and decide the game is over. You lock in. You communicate. You trust your teammates. You execute the game plan. And you give everything you have to finish strong.
For our students, that means knowing where you stand, asking for help when you need it, working with your teachers, and using the support systems around you. Take a look at your grades and ask yourself:
Do my grades reflect my best self?
If the answer is no, there is still time to make a difference.
Our teachers, counselors, support staff, and administrators are here to help, support, and lift you up. But just like a team, everyone has a role to play. You have to step onto the field and compete.
As we head into the final two weeks of the quarter, let's enjoy Homecoming, celebrate our school, celebrate our Tigers, and then lock in on the end of the quarter.
Finish strong. Trust your team. Reach Your Full Potential (RYFP).
MACTE VIRTUTE — Increase in Excellence.
TIGER UP!!! 🐯
As Always,
Tigers T.I.E.

Parking Lot Traffic Pattern (Hill Rd. Parking Lot)
Morning Drop Off / Student Parking
Greetings Tiger Families,
To improve student safety during morning arrival, in collaboration with our Student Safety and Security Director, we are making a change to our traffic pattern. During student drop-off and parking, we have experienced several close-call situations as students cross from the parking lot while parents are dropping students off. This adjustment is designed to improve traffic flow and provide a safer arrival experience for everyone.
Beginning at the start of the school year, we ask that you follow these traffic patterns:
- Student Drivers: Please enter campus through the Hill Rd. West Entrance to access the student parking lot. After parking, please use the designated crosswalks and cross carefully.
- Parent Drop-Off: Please enter and exit through the Hill Rd. East Entrance.
We will begin the school year using this traffic pattern and will assess its effectiveness as we monitor morning arrival.
Please Note: We ask that everyone respect the parking spaces of our seniors who participated in the Senior Parking Spot Painting tradition. These spaces are reserved for the students who purchased and painted them, and parking regulations will be enforced throughout the school year.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and partnership as we work together to keep all of our students safe.
Cell Phone Expectations & Procedures: Creating a Focused Learning Environment
Initiative Updates for the 2026-27 School Year (Cellphones / PCDs)
In accordance with Ohio Revised Code 3313.753 and Pickerington Local School District Board Policy, students are expected to keep their cell phones put away during the school day. This expectation is designed to minimize distractions, maximize student engagement, and foster an environment where all students can focus on learning.
First offense: The phone will be confiscated by an administrator and returned to the student at the end of the school day. Parents/guardians will be notified.
Second offense: The phone will be confiscated, and a parent/guardian will be required to pick it up from the school.
Third offense: The phone will be confiscated, and a parent/guardian conference will be required to develop a plan for future compliance.
We recognize that this expectation requires a strong partnership between school and home. We ask for your support by discussing this expectation with your student before the school year begins, helping them understand the purpose behind it, and reinforcing its importance throughout the year.
Thank you in advance for partnering with us to create a learning environment where students are focused, engaged, and fully present each day. Together, we can ensure that every student has the opportunity to learn in a classroom free from unnecessary distractions.
As Always,
TigersT.I.E.
