CPC Update

I hope everyone had a great week! Thank you all for your ongoing support in helping students smoothly transition back into the routine and guiding future students through the high school application process. We’re excited to share that 561 high school applications have been submitted (still out pacing the last several years by over 100)! GREAT JOB on hosting such a successful Middle School Counselor Breakfast! It was a huge success!! I hope you have a great weekend!

Retirement Planning Session

We have developed a retirement planning information meeting to help our employees learn more about the benefits of the Oklahoma Teachers Retirement System (TRS). Our target audience consists of three groups:

1. Employees who have never participated in a session to better understand TRS

2. Employees who are within two years of retirement

3. Employees who plan to retire this year.

This session will be on January 28th from 3:30pm-5:00pm in the Board Room. During our meeting, we will discuss preparing for income differences in retirement, health insurance considerations, and reviewing your projected income from TRS in retirement. Whether you are 30 years from retirement or 6 months from retirement, the information shared will be of benefit to you!

Policies and Procedures

FTTC Policies and procedures are being refactored for the FY26 SY. Please see email from Dr. Scott on 1/14/26.

On January 28, we will be welcoming a FTTC culture and connection group to the office for a brief overview visit. The group is scheduled to tour Health at 1:00 p.m., followed by a visit to the Career Planning Center (CPC) around 1:30 p.m. Following the CPC visit, the group will make a quick stop in Assessment. I just wanted to put this on your radar. Thanks!

Several members of the Accreditation Advisory Committee are finishing their terms this year, and we’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to join. The committee provides guidance on accreditation standards, policies, and procedures, helping shape the future of career and technical education in Oklahoma.

Terms are two or three years—long enough to provide continuity, but short enough to welcome fresh ideas! We especially need representatives from:

• Administration
• Business & Industry/Economic Development (BIS/WED)
• Program Content Areas
• Financial Aid
• Information Management
• Online Instruction
• Support Services

If you’re interested in sharing your expertise and making a difference, we’d love for you to complete our short interest form by January 30th.
