🎮 Leveling Up!

Hello, Davisburg Community!

We have officially entered October, and what a fantastic start to the month it has been!

One of the highlights was our incredible Homecoming Pep Assembly last Friday! We were excited to welcome members of the Holly High School football team, marching band, cheer team, and dance team to Davisburg to get our students fired up and ready to cheer on our Holly Bronchos! The energy throughout the building was amazing, and it was even better knowing our Bronchos went on to bring home a victory that evening!

I also want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to all the parents, guardians, students, and staff who joined me in marching in the Homecoming Parade. What a wonderful experience it was to come together and celebrate the pride, spirit, and traditions that make our Holly community so special!

This school year continues to move at the speed of a “Sonic Boom!” 💨

We truly keep Leveling Up this school year, whether it is our students “Learning with Power. Super Power!” or our incredible staff “Teaching with Power. Super Power!” Every day, I see examples of our students growing, learning, and demonstrating what it means to be a Davisburg LEADer!

We also had another wonderful turnout for our second Parent Teacher Connection (PTC) meeting! I was thrilled to attend in person and hear about the many exciting activities and opportunities our PTC has planned for this school year, including the upcoming Halloween Dance! I appreciate the dedication of our PTC and the families who continue to support our school. Be sure to check the Davisburg PTC Facebook page for more information about upcoming events!

Speaking of exciting things ahead, our second LEAD Assembly of the school year is just a few weeks away! I am especially looking forward to announcing the schoolwide reward our students have helped select for filling our LEAD Ticket Bucket in the office. It is important to me that our students have a voice in these celebrations, and I cannot wait to share what they have chosen! Every LEAD ticket represents a student making a positive choice, demonstrating kindness, or showing what it means to be a Davisburg LEADer.

As we continue building upon our school wide book, Only One You, and our first LEAD focus of Kindness, you may have noticed our new “Kindness Starts Here” signs appearing throughout the building. These signs serve as a daily reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference. Whether it is including someone in a game, helping a classmate, offering an encouraging word, or simply showing respect, every student has the power to make Davisburg a kinder place!

At Davisburg Elementary, student attendance remains a priority all year long! Every school day is an opportunity for our students to learn, grow, build relationships, and Level Up! We know that consistent attendance plays an important role in student success, and we are here to partner with our families to help overcome any challenges that may impact getting to school each day. To recognize the importance of showing up and being ready to learn, we will be celebrating student attendance every month! Together, we can build positive attendance habits, celebrate our students' commitment to learning, and continue Leveling Up at Davisburg!

I also want to take a moment to thank our families and staff for their continued support of our updated car line and bus dismissal procedures. These changes have been going very well, and your patience, cooperation, and willingness to work together have helped make our arrival and dismissal processes smoother and safer for everyone. Your partnership truly makes a difference!

As I reflect on our first several weeks together, I continue to be grateful for the students, staff, and families who make Davisburg Elementary such a special place. We have already accomplished so much, and I know the best is still ahead of us.

Leveling Up takes all of us! Just like in our favorite video games, every challenge presents an opportunity to grow, every accomplishment deserves to be celebrated, and every new level brings exciting possibilities. Together, there is no limit to what we can achieve!

Hello, October! Davisburg is Leveling Up! 🎮⭐

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hearing Screening Information

Michigan law (The Public Health Code 368 of 1978) requires Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) to provide no cost hearing and vision screenings to preschool and school-age children. Screenings occur in most Oakland County public, private, and charter schools, preschools and at Health Division offices. The program is done in three steps over the course of a child’s school years: 1. Screenings before kindergarten entry 2. Screenings in select grades up to 9th grade. 3. As needed, medical referrals for children not passing the screening OCHD Public Health Technicians help identify potential concerns related to a child’s ear or eye health. They are not doctors and do not diagnose conditions or prescribe treatment. Technicians complete a Michigan Department of Community Health & Human Services Technician Training Course and receive continuous training.
