Dear Bordeaux Families,
Thank you everyone who was able to come out and enjoy our annual Harvest Carnival on Friday. There were so many wonderful costumes worn by students and their adults. There were new and creative costumes and some tried and true traditional ones. Our community always shows up to have a good time and connect with the school in a different way. Staff look forward to this event each year and once again, it did not disappoint.
Wednesday Celebrations
On each early release Wednesday our wonderful specialists team hosts grade levels in the gym for a mini-assembly. This last week they recognized students who have been showing incredible behavior and effort in their specialists classes. They also recognized our September perfect attendance students who showed up and shined all month long. Students also go to play a game of Gather the Leaves. So much fun for our students and specialists team.
Taproot Theater
Our fantastic PTSO paid to have Taproot Theater visit our school to teach about how to be a kind person and choose to do what’s right. Students learned a super important lesson about how to handle bullying with the three “Rs”: Recognize, Report, and Refuse.
BDX Commitments
Teachers will utilize the Second Step curriculum to teach social emotional regulation strategies and problem-solving strategies.
We commit to finding time to teach the curriculum with fidelity by embedding the content into all parts of the day and making adjustments based on the current relevant problems.
When we do this, students will experience being able to self-regulate and demonstrate the ability to solve problems in and out of the classroom.
