Log College Model UN
Log College Junior Model UN at Temple University
Log College’s Junior Model UN Club attended their final UN Conference on Wednesday, May 13th at Temple University. The goal of Jr. Model UN is to work collaboratively to propose recommendations on solving two of the major world issues from the viewpoint of their assigned nation. Student delegates received badges that included their names, countries (Japan), topics (Ensuring Healthy Oceans or Ending Hunger For All), and committee (#1 or #2).
Delegates prepared for this conference by creating position and resolution papers.
Upon arrival, students were split into small conference rooms based on their badges. Once in the conference rooms, delegates introduced themselves to delegates from other schools, and received directives from council leaders.
Delegates had the opportunity to collaborate with other schools representing different countries and to compromise on resolutions.
Congratulations to Log’s team of delegates and all your hard efforts!

William Tennent Visitation Night
From WTHS
We are excited to welcome our incoming freshmen and their families to William Tennent High School for 8th Grade Orientation and Building Tours on Thursday, May 21, 2026. This evening is a wonderful opportunity for current 8th grade students to become familiar with the school, meet our 9th grade principal, and begin preparing for a successful transition to high school.
Guided tours of the building will begin at 5:00 PM, with new tours departing every five minutes throughout the evening. The final guided tour will begin promptly at 6:00 PM. No registration or RSVP is required.
Families are asked to park in either the visitor or student parking lots and enter through the main entrance of the building. Our tour guides will be there to greet you!
Following the tours, students and families are invited to attend an orientation presentation led by 9th Grade Principal Mrs. Wood. During the presentation, families will learn more about academics, student life, activities, and what to expect during the transition to high school.
In addition, a variety of student clubs, athletic teams, and extracurricular organizations will be available throughout the evening to provide information about the many opportunities available to students at William Tennent.
The event will conclude at approximately 7:00 PM.
We look forward to meeting our future Panthers and officially welcoming you to the William Tennent community!

Science Lab
7th Grade Completes Spooner-Grabber Competition Investigation
This week, all 7th grade science students completed an exciting lab investigation exploring the ecological concept of competition. Students examined both intraspecific competition (competition within the same species) and interspecific competition (competition between different species) through a hands-on simulation activity. During the lab, students became a fictional species called “spooners,” organisms that had spoons for hands. Spooners only had 20 seconds to collect enough “food” to survive to the next season. Students quickly discovered that not all of the spooners were able to gather enough resources, helping them understand the real-world challenges animals face in nature. Later in the investigation, a new competing species called the “grabber” was introduced. Because grabbers could use their hands to collect food, students observed how one species can outcompete another when resources are limited. As food supplies continued to decrease, both species struggled to survive, demonstrating how competition increases as resources become scarce. Students were highly engaged throughout the activity and showed tremendous enthusiasm while applying important ecological concepts in a memorable, interactive way.
