Meet Mrs. Hounshell

This is Mrs. Hounshell's 20th year in education...all at Hamilton Middle School! She has a BME from Loyola University (New Orleans) and a MM from LSU. She is looking forward to another great year at Hamilton!

Meet Mr. Sellers

This is Mr. Sellers 2nd year of teaching! He has his BME from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is also a product of CFISD, graduating from Cypress Ranch HS in 2018. Mr. Sellers is looking forward to an exciting year!

Choir Bell Schedule 23-24

This week in choir...

We had our winter choir concert on Monday. Our Varsity choir students were guest performers at the Cypress Creek winter choir concert on Tuesday.

Thursday, we took our picture for the yearbook.

After the concert, we started working on 6th grade pop show material, and UIL prep for 7th/8th graders.

The two students who raised the most donations FINALLY got to cash in on throwing pies in Mrs. Hounshell's and Mr. Sellers' faces. Check out the pics below!

Next week in choir...LAST WEEK OF THE SEMESTER!!!!

We will continue working on:

6th grade pop show music
sight reading
region choir audition music (7th/8th graders)
music theory

On Wednesday of this week, we'll do our Secret Santa gift exchange (7th/8th graders opting to participate)

On Thursday of this week, we will go on our movie field trip.

Formal uniform RETURN (7th/8th graders)

If your student has not brought their choir uniform home back to school yet, they MUST do so before leaving for the winter holiday break. We will have them cleaned before they use them again in February.

Secret Santa (7th/8th graders only - OPTIONAL)

This is an OPTIONAL gift exchange. However, if your student chose to participate, they are expected to turn in their gift.

December 15th - WRAPPED gifts due to the choir room (please have your person's first and last name clearly labeled on the gift)

December 20th - gift exchange (during choir class)

Movie Field Trip - Dec. 21st

***THIS IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO THE STUDENTS WHO RECEIVED AT LEAST $200 IN DONATIONS FOR THE FUNDRAISER.***

Date: Thursday, December 21st

Time: 2nd period - 7th period

Attire: Choir t-shirt

Bring: Sack lunch OR money to purchase lunch

Cell Phone Policy

There is no reason for your student to have their cell phone out in choir. If you need to reach them during their choir period, please email Mrs. Hounshell (Lauren.Hounshell@cfisd.net) or Mr. Sellers (Joshua.Sellers@cfisd.net) and we will communicate with them. Cell phones should remain in student's backpacks on the backpack shelves OR in the "cell phone hotel."
