MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Franklin Students and Families,
Thank you so much students and families for the support and generosity you have shown to our Franklin community! I recently met with FHS parent Cindy Casama about organizing families around mutual community care, in particular around possible ICE actions that could happen near the school. Cindy Casama and I are planning to host a virtual community meeting for anyone interested in being part of this conversation or volunteering. The virtual meeting will be on Tuesday, March 3rd at 5:30pm. For more information Cindy can be reached at mixedrootsllc@gmail.com. Click here to access the google link for the meeting. We hope you can join us.
On Thursday, February 26th Franklin will honor the life and memory of Trayvon Martin and Hoodies Up Day. Everyone is welcome to participate by wearing their hoodie up. Trayvon Martin would have been 31 years old this month. Supporters use the anniversary of his birthday in February to fight against racial profiling and the criminalization of Black youth, emphasizing that the hoodie remains a powerful symbol of protest. Join us on Thursday to honor the legacy, stand for love, justice, and unity.
Thank you,
Dr. Z
