Hello, RMS Community-

I hope you all are enjoying the snow day. Teachers have spent a great deal of time leading and being actively involved in professional development opportunities on teacher workshop days and early release days. Yesterday during the RMS Early Release, we focused on Social-Emotional Learning. Over the past 3 years, we have worked with Eric Mann, a Social-Emotional Learning Consultant through SERESC. Staff members meet monthly with Eric to talk about approaches to support staff and students. Then we bring those ideas, concepts, and resources to staff and students during our Advisory period. We continue to access those strategies through the day, as well.

Yesterday Mr. Spader (Drexel) led a presentation on "Using Self-Talk" and "Regulating Strategy Examples." I have included pictures below and the two resources staff will be accessing for students. Staff members who presented some of these regulating strategies were Mrs. Costello (BU), Mr. Sampson (Georgetown), Mrs. Hanscom (SNHU), Mrs. Smith (Physical Education), Mrs. Saia (Reading), and Mrs. Knowlton (Drexel).

Have a great week!

Respectfully,

Ryan Gilpatrick
