WBHS Update

Principal's Update
Hello Laker Nation,
What a busy first week at WBHS!
Although it's only been 4 days, students are right back into learning, socializing, and having a great time at WBHS. We've seen incredible sports victories, outstanding band performances, wild weather, and so many happy students.
- School begins at 7:45 AM. Please plan to arrive in the parking lot by 7:20 AM as new student drivers, increased traffic, and local construction may delay arrivals.
- Schedules, grades, and attendance are available on PowerSchool
- Students should bring their NEW Chromebooks EVERY DAY. If a student doesn't have a NEW Chromebook, they will need to see our wonderful staff in the iCenter.
- School ends at 2:38 PM. Please follow the traffic map below for arrivals and departures. Students cannot be picked up in the traffic loops closest to the building. They are reserved for bus traffic and additional vehicles will block traffic flow. Parents must pick up in the main lot. Utilize the paths indicated by pink arrows. The only spot for pickup is in the main parking lot. If your child is not ready, please park in a spot and wait so that traffic can continue to move. PLEASE BE PATIENT, as it always takes a week or two for it to sort itself out.
TRANSPORTATION UPDATE
- Yes, transportation and traffic can be a challenge at a school with 1,400 students. Parent drivers, student drivers, buses, and having only one traffic light entrance can cause delays.
- Bus routes will be arriving earlier starting next week. This should help get our buses out before the majority of drivers arrive
- Please use ONLY THE MAIN LOT for driving traffic. Due to construction, the need for handicap accessibility, and making sure our buses run on time, this is the only way to separate traffic and keep people moving
- If your child is not ready to get in the vehicle in the afternoon, please use a parking spot. Parking in the aisles blocks hundreds of other cars
- Please evenly distribute down each aisle in order to provide the best efficiency
- Please respect our staff. We have a few hard working individuals who put themselves in the middle of hundreds of vehicles to keep everyone safe and timely. Follow their directions and treat them with kindness. We are all doing our best to serve WBHS
Proud to be a Laker,
Eric Pace
Principal, WBHS

CHROMEBOOK UPDATES - ALL STUDENTS
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS
ALL STUDENTS must turn in their old Chromebooks and pick up a new device. Old Chromebooks will be disabled and students will be financially responsible for a replacement cost if the old device is not turned in. If your student does not yet have a NEW Chromebook, they must stop by the iCenter to obtain one as soon as possible once school begins.
ALL STUDENTS MUST USE THE NEW DISTRICT-PROVIDED CHROMEBOOKS AS THEIR ONLY TECHNOLOGY DEVICE IN SCHOOL - Students will be expected to bring their Chromebooks to and from school daily for classroom use. NO OTHER devices will be permitted.
***9th grade students should have already turned their devices in at the end of 8th grade***
***New students will not need to turn in an old device***
IMPORTANT - NEW PERSONAL TECH DEVICE POLICY
Student Chromebooks Required
In compliance with State Law, all personal tech devices are prohibited during instructional time. This includes, but is not limited to phones, personal laptops, tablets, smart watches, iPads, Kindles, AirPods, earbuds/headphones, interactive glasses, or any other devices that allows communication and/or Internet access. This will be enforced diligently in order to maximize student learning and to comply with State law.
PowerSchool Back to School Updates
It's time to check your PowerSchool information and communication preferences. ALL Families need to login to PowerSchool and complete the Back to School Update Packet. This will ensure that your contact information is up to date. Please double check parent/guardian phone numbers, email addresses, etc... This is imperative for emergency contact and communication purposes.
Once you are logged in to PowerSchool, click on "FORMS" and then "General Tab".
This process needs to be completed before the first day of school on Monday, August 31.
Please click on the following link: https://westbloomfield.powerschool.com/public/
Families are required to do this for each child enrolled with WBSD.
If you do not know your login and/or password for PowerSchool visit https://www.wbsd.org/parents/powerschool for more information.

Digital Devices and Gaggle
At West Bloomfield High School, the safety and well-being of our students extends beyond the classroom and into their digital learning environment. West Bloomfield School District uses an online monitoring system called Gaggle to help identify potential safety concerns when students are using their wbsd.org accounts.
District-issued Chromebooks and student accounts are provided to support learning and are intended for school-related assignments and activities. If Gaggle identifies content that may indicate a student's safety or well-being is at risk, school administrators receive an alert and will review the information. When appropriate, parents or guardians will be contacted so we can partner together in supporting the student.
While technology provides incredible opportunities for learning, it also reinforces the importance of ongoing conversations at home. We encourage families to regularly talk with their students about:
- Using apps, social media, and group chats responsibly.
- Treating others with kindness and respect in all digital interactions.
- Thinking carefully before posting, sharing, or sending messages.
- Speaking with a trusted adult if they encounter concerning or inappropriate online content.
Thank you for partnering with us to help our students develop safe, responsible, and respectful digital habits. By working together, we can create a positive online environment that supports both learning and student well-being.
Student Schedules
As we prepare for the release of student schedules, we want to remind families that student schedules are considered final and we will not be making schedule changes based on personal preference or requests for specific teachers, classmates, lunch periods, or class times.
A great deal of time, collaboration, and planning goes into developing the WBHS master schedule. Our team works carefully to balance class sizes, provide equitable learning opportunities, and coordinate lunch periods, electives, support services, and student movement throughout the building. Each schedule is thoughtfully designed to ensure the best possible experience for all students while meeting the many logistical needs of our school.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we begin another successful school year. We encourage all students to give their schedules an opportunity to work and to embrace the new experiences and relationships that come with a new school year.

The West Bloomfield School District (WBSD) is thrilled to announce that the 15th Annual Family Fun Night will be held at West Bloomfield High School on Friday, September 18, 2026. The entire West Bloomfield community is invited to attend this free event filled with activities, prizes, and more! Attendees are encouraged to come for the fun and then stay to cheer on the West Bloomfield High School Laker football team against Lake Orion High School at 7 p.m. following Family Fun Night. Elementary and middle school students wearing spirit wear items are admitted into the game for free!
Community organizations from across West Bloomfield will be present with special activities and giveaways for those in attendance. Families are invited to enjoy the bounce houses, face painting, photo booth, the dunk tank, temporary tattoos, games, activities, and more. Tours of military and first responder vehicles will also be available to attendees.
The West Bloomfield School District Family Fun Night started 15 years ago as an opportunity to kick off the upcoming school year and celebrate the first responders and military members who keep our community and our country safe. Representatives from the armed forces, police, fire, and EMS will be greeting and connecting with members of the community at the event.
Each year, Family Fun Night also serves as a commemoration of 9/11 and remembering those impacted by that fateful day.
