Dear Grant High School Community,

This week, we proudly celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week and recognize the incredible educators who make Grant High School such a special place. Every day, our teachers inspire, support, challenge, and encourage our students, helping them grow both academically and personally. We are deeply grateful for their dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to our school community.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful families and community members who helped make this week so meaningful. Your generosity, kindness, and support reminded our teachers just how appreciated they are.

A very special thank you goes to Por Qué No? for generously sponsoring a delicious lunch for our deserving teachers. Also want to thank the many families that sent food, drinks and utensils. Your thoughtful contribution helped make the celebration extra special, and we are so grateful for the partnership and support of our school community.

To all of our Grant High School teachers: thank you for the lasting impact you make every single day. We appreciate you this week and always!

Join us for a Gender-Affirming Clothing Swap for Grant students on May 21st during lunch in Room 199 and May 22nd during flex in the Upper Commons.

Clothing is an important way for many to express and affirm their gender identity, especially for trans and gender-expansive folks. However, clothing can be costly and hard to access, which creates barriers for students. This clothing swap aims to help remove those barriers, providing students with the opportunity to find clothes that align with their gender identity and feel more connected to their community.

Students and staff are encouraged to donate gently used clothing, whether it’s no longer your style or no longer fits. Please drop off your donations in the bin located in the Counseling Center by Monday, May 18th.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Catrina Knoerzer, cknoerzer@pps.net or Nicky Byram, nbyram@pps.net. We hope to see you there!

Recently our ISC students had the wonderful opportunity to attend Earth Stock. A special event designed for students with differing abilities that celebrates inclusion, joy, and community.

Earth Stock is more than just a dance—it’s an event where students can come together in a welcoming and supportive environment to enjoy music, movement, and connection. With lively music, colorful decorations, and an atmosphere full of encouragement, the event creates a space where everyone can feel comfortable being themselves and having fun.

For our ISC students, the experience was truly memorable. They had the chance to socialize with peers from other schools, express themselves through dance, and simply enjoy a night filled with laughter and positivity. Events like Earth Stock highlight the importance of inclusion and remind us of the power of community in creating meaningful experiences for all students.
