Safety Reminders
- Please do not send glass containers or bottles to school with your child. Glass containers break, and this is a safety concern for students.
- Students must walk their bikes and scooters once they arrive at school.
Class Placement Survey for 2026-2027
During the month of May, teachers, support staff and I will begin the process of placing students into classrooms for the 2026-2027 school year. We recognize that thoughtful placement is essential to support each child’s academic and social-emotional growth.
When developing class placements, our goal is to create diverse, balanced classrooms by considering students’ academic strengths, social-emotional development, leadership qualities, learning styles, behavioral dynamics, and peer relationships. Rather than matching students with specific teachers, we focus on forming well-rounded groups, as staffing assignments may change. Thoughts and feedback from your child’s current teachers, input from support staff and specialists, principal observations, and the information you choose to provide are all considered during this process.
The purpose of the class placement survey is to provide you with an opportunity to share any information that may help us in the placement process. Please present pertinent information about your child and describe the learning environment you think will maximize your child’s success during the upcoming school year. Completing this survey is not required. Please note that requests for specific teachers will not be considered, and forms that list a teacher’s name will not be used in the placement process.
If you have more than one child at Woodcrest, please complete a separate survey for each child. The survey will remain open until 11:59pm on May 1, 2026. Requests received after this date will not be considered. Separate email feedback will not be considered in the planning process.
We appreciate your trust in our team to make decisions with every child’s best interest in mind. Our team puts a significant amount of thought and consideration into developing placements in order to ensure a positive and enriching experience for all Woodcrest students.
Woodcrest Green Team will be hosting an Earth Day event on Wednesday, April 22, during school. Students will be using cardboard egg carton sections to plant wildflower seeds. Each student will be coming home with a small cardboard egg carton cup with soil and wildflower seeds. These cups are ready to be planted into the ground or a flowerpot, and watered, at home.
