Nauset Regional Middle School ROCKS
A Weekly Update from NRMS - January 30, 2026
Reminders & Headlines
Text Message Alerts from NPS
Text messages from Nauset Public Schools are sent from 98900. Families should save this number in their contacts. Texts from all schools in Nauset come from this number. If a family opted out of text messages earlier this year and would like to re-enroll, they can re-enroll by texting START to 98900. This is how alerts about possible snow days will be shared.
TERM 2 INTERIM REPORTS
January 23rd marked the halfway point for Term 2. As you are able to monitor your child's progress on Aspen, our online grading and attendance program, we recommend you check your child's academic progress to date. On January 30th, Aspen will provide you with detailed information regarding your child's completion of assignments and attendance, as well as information on classwork, homework, quizzes, and test scores. Hopefully, this information will enable you to have meaningful conversations with your child about their progress and/or expectations.
Nauset App Help Page
Families should download the Nauset App to receive school updates, alerts, and messages. Please note: some people have mistakenly downloaded the Thrillshare App instead. The Thrillshare App is for staff only and does not allow families to log in. To help, we have created the Nauset App Help Page on the district website under the Students and Families tab. This page includes written guides and short tutorials to walk you through downloading and using the app. Visit the page here: Nauset App Help Page

Updates From The Principal
Hello NRMS Families,
Once again we find ourselves watching the weather forecast in anticipation of a possible blizzard on Sunday. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the storm goes out to sea with minimal snow and wind. Please continue to look for updates when we have weather related delays and cancellations. These alerts will be messaged out via the Nauset app, text, email, and phone messages and also posted on Facebook and Instagram. With the frigid temperatures continuing, please be sure students are arriving to bus stops and to school prepared for the cold.
We ended our week with a fun event and House points competition, a Rock - Paper - Scissors tournament. Incorporating more fun and community building events for students has been a goal of ours all year. Next week, that continues with the in-school performance of selected numbers of the school musical. Beetlejuice the musical opens up this weekend up at the high school. Please check it out.
Also starting soon is the annual 8th grade cornhole tournament where students pair up with a faculty partner. This is our version of March Madness. 8th graders have been signing up and we have just a few spots still open. We will soon create the brackets and the games will begin.
Our hope is that these events are helping students to endure the cold winter months and continue to be excited to come to school. The balance of community and fun with our strong academic program is what helps make our school an amazing learning environment.
Stay safe and stay warm - only 48 days until spring!
Peter Cohen, Ed.D.
Principal

Middle School Athletics Booster Club
Dear Nauset Middle School Families,
We are reaching out to invite parents and guardians to become involved in the Nauset Middle School Athletics Booster Club. The Nauset High School Boosters Club established a middle school chapter several years ago, and we are now looking to rebuild and re-energize this group with the help of parent volunteers. A strong booster club plays an important role in supporting our student-athletes and enhancing the overall athletic experience.
Parent volunteers can help in many ways, including:
- Fundraising for new uniforms and athletic equipment
- Organizing team-building events and celebrations
- Assisting with school spirit initiatives such as Pack the Gym and Pack the Field events
- Supporting game-day and athletic event logistics
Whether you have a little time or a lot, your involvement can make a meaningful difference for our student-athletes and programs.
If you are interested in learning more or getting involved, please contact:
Cheryl Silvernail, President, Nauset High School Boosters Club nwbcexecs@gmail.com
Gregg Barr, Athletic Coordinator, Nauset Middle School barrg@nausetschools.org
Thank you for your continued support of Nauset Middle School Athletics. We look forward to working together to strengthen our programs and build school pride.
