Challenger Students and Families,

We are excited to welcome all of our families to Student-Led Conferences this week! Our goal is 100% student and family participation, either in person or through Zoom.

These conferences are an opportunity for students to share their progress, celebrate their successes, reflect on areas for growth, and identify goals for the rest of the year. They also give families and staff valuable time to connect, build relationships, and work together to support each student’s success.

If you have not signed up through ParentVUE, please do so now! The conference sign-up window will close Tuesday evening.

On Monday and Tuesday, students who do not yet have a conference scheduled will use advisory time to call or text their families and select a day and time.

Only Five Days Remain in the First Quarter!

Students, now is the time to:

  • Check your grades in StudentVUE.
  • Complete missing work and assessments.
  • Talk with your teachers about retake opportunities.
  • Sign up for the Flex sessions you need for the following week.
  • Make a plan to finish the quarter strong!

Monday, October 26: No Late Start

Buses will run on their regular schedule. The AM session begins at 7:55 a.m., and the PM session begins at 11:25 a.m.

We look forward to connecting with every student and family this week. Let’s finish the first quarter strong—

Raven Shout-Out!

  • Great job practicing our LOCKDOWN DRILL PROCEDURES Friday, 10/23!

Let's finish the quarter strong, Ravens! Keep showing up, keep growing, and keep getting 1% better each day!

Our Fall Family-School Relationships Survey is open!

Your input helps us understand what we're doing well, how your student is experiencing school, and where we can make improvements to better support our students and families.

HERE is the SURVEY LINK: FALL CHALLENGER SURVEY

Our goal is to have more parent feedback surveys completed than the other 3 High Schools! We have 362 students, we appreciate hearing from all parents and guardians.

A few things to know:

Time Commitment: Just a few minutes!

Survey Link: Each parent/guardian listed in our school records will receive an email with their own survey link.

School: Please choose Challenger! If you choose another school, Challenger does not get the results.

Thank you for your support! We genuinely value your open and honest feedback.

KEEP THE MOMENTUM STRONG

Hello Challenger Families! Let's Keep Showing Up! Last week we recognized 130 students for being Right-on-Tme to their first period of their day! Let's keep that up!

This past week, our attendance increased from 79.8% to 80.9%. Any increase is better than a decrease! If you look below, you can see the breakdown between the morning and afternoon session and each grade level.

9th Grade is leading the pack with the BEST attendance and the 10th graders are coming in second.

Not feeling well? If you have a fever of 100.4°F or higher, are vomiting, or are too ill to participate in school, please stay home and focus on getting better. If you do not have fever above 100.4, come to school! Sometimes we have to go to work or school when we don't feel our tip-top selves. We can do this! It's only a 3 hour day!!

Remember: Focus on one day at a time. If your student misses a day, the challenge isn’t over. Reset, come back, and keep going!

Presence is Power. One day at a time. Show up. Start again. Keep going! ❤️🖤

Interested in Donating Prizes for Attendance Challenges or Student Store?

Some folks have asked if we need any help with donations for student prizes. The answer is YES!

We rely on donations to stock our Attendance Awards, School Challenges, and Student Store. If you are interested in donating items, you can bring them in during conferences and drop them off to the main office.

Boxes of chips, snacks, fruit snacks, popcorn, or bulk prizes (stickers, pens, 3-d critters, small notebooks, etc) are always appreciated.

Cedarcrest Middle School construction update

Check out the latest video from the new Cedarcrest Middle School Construction site! Under our voter-approved 2019 School Construction Bond, what began as a school modernization evolved into a complete rebuild, thanks to careful planning and additional state funding. Walls are now going up for the three-story, 123,000-square-foot facility that will feature 39 modern classrooms. Designed to expand capacity from 700 to 850 students, the permanent home will ensure Chargers have the space and resources they need when it opens in the fall of 2028. Thank you, voters! https://youtu.be/RU4xlezg2t4
