Re-Engagement and Reteaching
As we close out the school year, we want to make you aware of a possible opportunity for your student. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction allows students to retake the EOG or EOC assessment(s) if they are not proficient on their initial testing opportunity. In order to take advantage of this option, the requirements below must be met:
Students must have a passing grade in the course or subject. For students taking an EOC, the final passing grade must include the initial EOC score as 20%.
Re-engagement must be provided to your student before retesting.
Schools will provide a minimum of 60 minutes of instruction on the content being retested.
Parents or guardians must give permission for their student to participate in re-engagement and retesting.
The re-engagement and retesting opportunity for semester 1 and semester 2 will occur between May 22 and June 10. If your student qualifies for this opportunity because they were not proficient on the EOG or EOC, the school will contact you with additional information.
