I hope everyone was able to take advantage of the beautiful weather yesterday and enjoyed the day off. For our families who observed Yom Kippur, I hope you had a meaningful and easy fast.

IAR results for our current 4th and 5th Grade students came home via backpack mail today! Please ask your child/ren to share them with you if they have not already.

I am looking forward to "Walk to School" day next Wednesday, October 8th! Hopefully this sunny weather sticks around so as many people as possible can enjoy walking, biking or rolling to school! Our traffic team have organized some "special guests" to come and welcome our students! Please prepare your children that they will see AHPD officers and many Hersey athletes who will be eager to high five our students and wish them a great start to their school day. This is also a good day to remind everyone how to walk/bike/or roll to school safely so help our traffic team celebrate by wearing bright, high-visibility (neon) colors!

The sign up genius link for Parent Teacher Conferences in October is open so please do sign up if you have not signed up yet! There is more information about this below! We hope many of you can attend!

On Tuesday, October 7th we will have our final Fire Drill of the year. The Arlington Heights Fire Department will be in attendance for this drill so please do not be alarmed if you see fire engines outside the school on this day!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ellie Chin

On Sunday, September 28th you should have received an email with the link to sign up for Fall conferences! These will take place on Thursday, October 23rd and Friday, October 24th. School will NOT be in session on these dates. Conference times are available on Thursday morning, afternoon, and evening as well as Friday morning. Each conference is scheduled for 20 minutes.

These conferences are always a great way for you to connect with your child(ren)'s teacher, spend time in the classroom and hear about your child's school life and how they are progressing this year. We appreciate the ongoing partnership and collaboration that is shared in the Patton community. Please note that there is only one conference time slot for each student.

Fourth and Fifth Grade Parents: The conference times are for meeting with your child's homeroom teacher. If your child has a different teacher for math and you have specific math questions, please email him or her directly.

SIGN UP FOR A CONFERENCE HERE!

I know we are only 3 days into October but Halloween will be here before we know it! I thought it would be helpful, especially to our new families, to share about how Halloween is celebrated here at Patton!

The morning proceeds as a typical day, but the afternoon looks a little different.

On Friday, October 31st students can either go home for lunch to change into their costumes or stay at school and change into their costumes after they have eaten (more information about this process will be shared soon). Students that go home for lunch should return by 1:10 pm to ensure they are in their classrooms by the time the bell rings.

At around 1:45 pm we will begin our annual Halloween parade around the neighborhood (see image to see our route). Parents are welcome to come and stand along the parade route to watch the students go by! Please know that the parade will be cancelled in the case of inclement weather.

Classroom parties will then take place following the parade.

This is always such a fun day and we are already looking forward to it!
