GREETINGS!
GRANDPARENTS DAY!
What a great way to end the week! We loved having all of our amazing Grandparents and special people come visit us today for lunch! You always make our Gators and Staff feel special! Thank you for coming and we can't wait to do it again next year!
BOOK FAIR NEWS!
STUDENTS AND STAFF MUST WEAR IDs!
Hello Gator Families,
Last year GPS started a district mandate that all students and staff must wear their school IDs on campus.
IDs are needed for...
-the safety of our students
-the bus
-the library
and
-the cafeteria
Please be sure your Gator comes to school with their lanyard with ID everyday. We can print a temporary sticker if they forget for the day but if the ID is lost they will need to have it replaced. The first replacement is free but after that it will be $5 per replacement. Thank you for your help with this so we can keep all our Gators safe!
9/11, Constitution, & Sandra Day O'Conner Days!
We have some very important days coming up that our Gators will be learning about.
Remembering 9/11: Honoring the victims is a way to honor the lives of those who died in the attacks, as well as the first responders who risked their lives to save them. Reflecting on American identity. The attacks on 9/11 led to conversations about American identity, patriotism, security, and service.
9/17 Constitution Day: recognizes the adoption of the U.S. Constitution and those who have become American citizens.
9/25 Sandra Day O'Connor Day: we celebrate Justice Sandra Day O'Connor who was the first woman appointed to the Supreme Court in 1981 where she served until 2006 when she retired. She remained active as a tireless advocate for judicial independence and the Rule of Law throughout the world.
We will be setting aside some time on these days to reflect and learn about these historic events.
