Hello everyone!

I'm Morgan Pendon, the new Director of Bands and Orchestra here at University High School. I'm very happy to have joined the Titan family and become a part of your community. My goal is to provide students meaningful experiences through music to create community, learn to solve problems, and how to express themselves. I want students in my class to learn the tools necessary to make their own musical decisions and become lifelong musicians. This is my fourteenth year of teaching, with the last decade of my career being at the Liberty School District in Spangle, WA.

It is my honor to be here, feel free to reach out to me when you have any questions!

Mr. Pendon

SCHOOL SUPPLIES LIST SCHOOL SUPPLIES LIST

All Students

  • 1' to 1.5' Black 3-ringed View Binder
    • For sheet music in their performing ensembles
    • Students will need one for each performing group, or can move up to a 2' Binder to hold music for multiple ensembles
  • Pencil for class
    • We will take notes and adjust music in our rehearsals, sometimes things change multiple times, so pencils are much preferred over pens.
  • Chromatic tuner (not required but recommended)
    • With the district ban of cell phones in the classroom, students are not able to use their phones as tuners anymore. Owning a personal one will allow your student to have an easier time assessing pitch in the classroom.

If your student is unavailable to show up for a rehearsal or performance for any reason, please have a parent contact Mr. Pendon via E-mail ASAP. I prefer to have parent communication on events conflicts so that parents and staff have an understanding on the location of the student.

CAR WASH

SIGN-UP LINK FOR CAR WASH

We are running our Fall Car Wash Fundraiser on Saturday, September 6th. We are currently selling $5 tickets, that allows for a customer to have one car wash. We can make as many tickets as you can sell and, as of right now, I still have many in my office!

Every sale you make will credit your ASB Account for your Marching Band Fees, or otherwise, help fund the UHSMB. We can't do this program without financial support, so your participation is necessary!

Money that is collected can be deposited at the UHS Business Office and checks can be made out to University High School ASB.

Finally, we need students to actually WASH CARS! Please sign-up on the link above to work this event. Once again, you be credited for the hours you work.

Please make sure you are signing up under the correct (PARENT) or (STUDENT) job.
