The Weekly Update #4
August 22nd, 2025
What a Week at Spring Leadership Academy!
Walking through classrooms this week was a true joy—students collaborated, tackled exciting projects, and showed what it means to stand on business! On September 26, 2025, we recognized our scholars’ outstanding attendance. Students with 100% perfect attendance for the past two weeks celebrated with ICEE Pops and popcorn, while those with 94% or higher attendance enjoyed popcorn. We’re so proud of our Knights for showing up, staying engaged, and giving their best effort—Go Knights!
We also want to hear from YOU! In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, please share the traditions, foods, and stories that make your family special. Fill out the Google Form below, and we’ll showcase family spotlights with our school community.
Finally, beginning the week of September 29, 2025, any student who accumulates three or more tardies will be assigned after-school detention on October 9, 2025. After that date, detentions will be held on Tuesdays or Thursdays based on availability. Students must be picked up by a parent or guardian at the end of detention. We kindly ask families to speak with their scholars about the importance of being on time—students have three minutes to transition between classes, and every minute counts.
Be sure to keep reading this newsletter to learn how you can help with our Trunk Fest on October 30th!
In compliance with Texas Senate Bill 12, we are required to obtain your written consent for your child to receive campus-based, routine health-related services during the 2025–2026 school year.
It is imperative that you complete this form to either opt in or opt out before students return on Tuesday, September 2nd. This will ensure there is no confusion about whether or not your child may be seen by the school nurse or counselors.
👉 If you want to make sure your child can be seen by the nurse or counselor, you must provide consent using the form.

Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter and for helping us keep our Knights safe and supported!
Beginning Monday, September 22, 2025, all students must use their SMART Tag ID badge when getting on and off the school bus. These badges do more than just track ridership—they keep students safe, help buses stay on schedule, and make transportation run smoothly.
Why SMART Tag Badges Matter:
-
Safety: Tracks when and where students get on and off.
-
Records: Keeps families and staff updated with bus details.
-
Time-Saving: Makes loading/unloading faster.
-
Consistency: Ensures everyone follows district policy.
If your student does not yet have a badge, please make sure they receive one this week. If a badge is forgotten, the campus can provide a daily temporary pass (completed by an administrator). Lost or damaged badges will need to be replaced.
Finding Bus Information:
Families can access student bus routes and updates through:
-
My Ride Campus Portal (for General Education routes)
-
Aries Transportation Query (for detailed bus lists)
-
SMART Tag Campus Portal (to view routes, stops, scan logs, and badge status)
For SPED, Choice, or MKV routes, please use the designated Google Forms or contact your campus for support.
Thank you for helping us keep our buses safe, efficient, and on time!
