Happy last Friday of school DKMS families! We had a busy week here in the middle school and it will be busy again next week!

Here are some important reminders for the last week of school

• Monday June 3, 2024: 6th Grade field trip to Chicago, 5th, 7th, and 8th Grade Chromebook turn in, and locker clean out.
• Tuesday June 4, 2024 1/2 day of School: Award Assemblies, 6th Grade Chromebook turn in and locker clean out.
• Wednesday June 5, 2024 1/2 day of School
• Thursday June 6, 2024 1/2 day and last day of School: Student YearBook signing

This year students will be turning in their Chromebook, case, and charger on Monday June 3rd or Tuesday June 4th. Here is the message from our District Technology Director:

Monday, June 3 - Chromebook Turn-In: Grades 5, 7, and 8 Only

Tuesday, June 4 - Chromebook Turn-In: Grade 6 Only

* Before returning your device, you will be given a Chromebook Return slip that will have your name, student ID, and some instructions on returning your assigned Chromebook

* At some point during the school day, you will be called down to room 26 to turn in your assigned Chromebook and accessories. At this time please bring your assigned Chromebook in its case (charged), Chromebook Return slip, and charger to turn in.

* Chromebook and its case must be clear of any stickers or personal artifacts.

* Your Chromebook and charger will be assessed for damage and any fines will be added to your account for payment.

If your child is enrolled in summer school, they will not turn in their Chromebook, but they will have it checked on either June 3 or June 4 depending on what grade they are in. Chromebooks will stay at school during summer school.

In the middle school office we have lots of information about sports and camps that are happening over the summer and in the fall. Please have your child stop in the office to pick up that information. Also, as a reminder that students need to have an updated physical each year and that form needs to be turned into the high school athletic office if they plan on being on any DK school sports teams next year.

As always I would like to thank our staff, students, families, and community for all of their hard work and support. I would also like to thank everyone for an excellent school year! I want to wish our 8th graders the best of luck as they start their high school careers and I want to thank them for an awesome last 2 years here in the middle school! I hope everyone enjoys their summer vacations and I can't wait for the start of the 2024/2025 school year!
