Family Engagement Opportunities
Winter Wellness Series of Family Events
We know having a high schooler can be a challenge to spend quality time together. We have a few family events coming up to bond and beat the Winter blues.
This event is FREE. If you would like transportation to this event, please fill out this form.
This event is FREE. Dinner will be provided, but we ask that you sign RSVP if you plan to eat here so that we can get a head count.
SMS and SHS PTSA

- Makers Family Night
- Teacher Appreciation Week
- Collaboration with the SHS All Night Grad Party
- Supporting PBIS goals at both schools
HOW TO JUMP ON BOARD
Their next meeting will be on January 22nd at 5:30, show up! Find more information on what the group does, updates, and opportunities to help by visiting their facebook page here. Become a member here.
Volunteers
If you plan to help out at Superior High School, please visit the link below and complete the 2 PART process. If you need assistance with the fee associated with the background check, please email leann.egnash@superior.k12.wi.us and she can help you. We do not want this fee to deter you from making a positive difference at our school. You can specify in your application if you want it to include multiple schools within our district. This check is valid for one year from the date it is complete.
All Night Grad Party Support
Our 2025 All Night Grad Party Committee is already planning a fun and safe evening for our Spartan Graduates on the evening of June 6th. Visit their site for more information and ways to support.
PBIS at SHS
PBIS (positive behavior interventions and supports) is a system that focuses on reinforcing positive behavior by providing clear expectations to students and teaching them what those expectations look like in action. PBIS provides meaningful incentives for students when they are showing expected behavior and provides reteaching to students who may need more support in understanding how to show expected behavior throughout the building.
Our three core beliefs are work, respect, and belong. We have conversations about these values throughout our building. We explain what it looks like to work, respect, and belong as a student in each area of our school and encourage students to show work, respect, and belong by creating incentives. Based off of student data, we are still needed to continue to focus on attendance (kids in seats on time every day). Staff are encouraged to award students with a Spartan ticket, which they can turn in for various incentives. How can you help support our efforts? We are looking for prizes, gift cards, or experiences that will get our students excited. Any donations can be turned into the main office to the attention of Matt Amerson. We have also created this Amazon Wishlist. Another way to support is to shop the Spartan Shack online for gear we can use toward prizes. Our students love Spartan swag!

The holiday season can be magical. For many people, though, including teens, the holidays can be just the opposite—a stressful time that sparks or exacerbates feelings of anxiety, sadness, loneliness, and depression.
Beyond the wish list (that tends to get more extravagant the older they get), what teens need most from parents is understanding and support. This includes holiday stress-management skills to help reduce stress during this time of year. Here are a few articles to consider as the holiday season approaches.
Student Life
Movie Night Friday
The GSA group will be hosting a movie night on Friday, December 20th for all student after school in the Library Conference Room.

Changing Lives Class Helps Give Back
Because of funding from the Ryan Hoff Memorial Foundation, Friends of Steve Arnovich - 14 Foundation, and an anonymous alumni group, our Changing Lives Class were able help six Spartan families in need this Holiday season. SHS staff were sent out a form to nominate families. The Changing Lives Class budgeted from the family lists, made the purchases, and did all the wrapping to make the Holiday season a little brighter for 6 special Spartan families.
