Back to School Announcements Back to School Announcements

We are excited to welcome everyone back for Meet & Greet tomorrow evening! We hope you have had a wonderful summer filled with time spent with family and friends. As summer comes to a close, we are looking forward to the start of another great school year at Lakewood. We can't wait to welcome our students back, reconnect with our families, and kick off a year of learning, growth, and success together!

Meet & Greet - Wednesday, July 29 Meet & Greet - Wednesday, July 29

Thank you in advance for completing your student's online registration before Meet & Greet.

Families should enter through the gym doors and go to their child's grade-level table to receive their homeroom assignment. If your child's online registration has not been completed or you are experiencing issues with your ParentVUE account, you will be directed to the library for assistance.

Due to technical issues, please disregard any class assignments that may have appeared earlier this summer in the Henry County Schools app or ParentVUE. Homeroom assignments distributed at Meet & Greet will be the correct assignments.

Communication App Communication App

Last year, our district is transitioned to a new communication app for all district, school, team, and classroom communication. This change will help streamline information and ensure everyone stays connected in one place.

Please download the Henry County School System app as soon as possible using the link below. If you have already downloaded the app, please take a moment to log in and make sure your notifications are turned on so you don’t miss important updates.

As a test, this family newsletter is being shared through the new app. If you have downloaded the app and did not receive this message, please let us know so we can help ensure you are properly connected.

If you need assistance logging into your account or setting up the app, our front office staff is happy to help. Please call us at 731-644-1600.

Thank you for your support as we make this transition to improve communication for our Lakewood community.

Car Rider Pick Up Procedures Car Rider Pick Up Procedures

To help expedite the car rider line, please review the following:

1.) To enter the car rider line, you will take the first left as you enter the parking lot. At this point, you will need to get in the appropriate lane, depending on the wing you are picking up from. We will have staff available to help direct you, if needed.

2.) LANES & WINGS

The left lane is for the following:

B & C Wing (3rd-8th) pickup

PreK pickup

The right lane is for A Wing (K-2nd) pickup.

3.) If you are picking up multiple students, make sure that your oldest student knows to go to the youngest student's designated pickup wing for dismissal. Please communicate the correct wing to the person picking up your students. To eliminate confusion, the older sibling will consistently come to this wing for pickup, even if the younger sibling is absent.

4.) Students will load vehicles on the passenger side. Please plan accordingly.

5.) For safety reasons, parents must remain in their vehicles at all times. If you have a special circumstance, please contact the office (731-644-1600) to discuss an alternative plan.

6.) Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as everyone learns our car rider dismissal procedures. We appreciate your support in ensuring the safest dismissal possible.

CAR RIDER PLACARDS - Numbers will not be the same as last year.

  • Use your student placard with the car rider number.
  • Car rider placards will be passed out at Meet & Greet. If you are unable to attend, a placard will be sent home with your student on the first day of school.
  • If you do not have your car rider placard on the first day, or you have a new student that did not receive one yet, please display your youngest student's name and grade in the passenger window.
  • Each student has a unique car rider number. When multiple students or siblings ride together, please display one car rider placard, preferably the youngest student's.
