Hello Families, Students, Staff, and Community,
The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) invites you to be part of our Second Annual MLK Day Celebration on Monday, January 19, 2026.
Join your neighbors and our school community as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy under the theme: “True peace is not merely the absence of tension; it is the presence of justice.”
(A quick note for families and staff: There is no school in the OASD on this day.)
Event Details
Date: Monday, January 19, 2026 (Non-school day / paid holiday in the OASD)
Location: Vel Phillips Middle School - Atrium
Time: 8 - 10:45 a.m.
8 - 9 a.m.: Complimentary continental breakfast and community connection time
9 a.m.: Program begins
Features: Complimentary breakfast, community connection time, keynote speaker, recognition of MLK essay contest winners, and student music performances.
Open to: All ages welcome (students/children must be accompanied by a guardian).
Cost & Registration: The event is free, but pre-registration is greatly appreciated for planning purposes.
