This Week at Wright
Week of Monday, January 27th - Friday, January 31st, 2025
๐ฃHello Families!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
No worries this week, I think we will be at school each day. The weather seems to be warming up some.
During the school day, your child will take several assessments. Sometimes students may be doing well with classwork and homework but may struggle to take assessments. You can help with this. Check below for ways to help your child become a more confident test-taker. We are so blessed to have you on team Mary Wright.
Have a fabulous week! I appreciate all of you.

3- Car riders must be picked up by 2:40.
4- Send a note to the school if your child's transportation home changes.
5.Students can not bring coffee, tea, or soda to school.
SHOW YOUR CHILD HOW TO BECOME A MORE CONFIDENT TEST TAKER
Test anxiety is real. It comes from self-doubt. When students don't think they will succeed on a test, they often don't. To help your child be more confident before a test:
- Take off the pressure. Tell your child that tests are just a way for them to show the teacher what they have learned so far and what they need help with.
- Find out what the test will cover. Encourage your child to listen carefully when the teacher discusses the test and ask questions if needed.
- Avoid last-minute panic. Your child should begin to study several days before the test.
- Encourage positive self-talk. When stuck during a test, you can say, "I am prepared, and I know this. The answer will come to me."
- Talk about your child's strengths. Confidence in one area can lead to success in other areas.
Talking positively about tests can help relieve some of that anxiety.
