Keeping a Pulse on Student Life at WMHS! 10/24/2025
Welcome to Our Heartbeat Newsletter!
If you're new here—welcome! Every Friday, we send out our Heartbeat of the Wildcat newsletter to keep you informed and connected. Each edition includes highlights of what’s been happening around the school during the week, as well as important updates and upcoming events.
Stay tuned and thank you for being part of our Wildcat community!
Around the Halls
A group of our students attended the Women in IT Conference at Xavier University! 🙌 They spent the day connecting with inspiring professionals, exploring career paths in technology, and learning how women are shaping the future of the IT industry. 💡
What an amazing Career Day yesterday! A huge thank-you to all the professionals, community partners, and volunteers who took time to share their experiences and inspire our students. 🌟
Honors bio is learning about osmosis through eggs!
Our 6th graders have officially lost power, and possibly their trust in humanity. While reading The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street, students got way too good at accusing each other of being aliens. One thing’s for sure if the lights flicker, we’re all in trouble!
Students in Made to Market class are learning woodworking techniques to make charcuterie boards to sell.
Students in Art 1 learned how to use the grid method while using MagicSchool AI image generator to create surrealism images.
Today in Physical Science, students explored phase changes and density in a spooky way — experimenting with dry ice and trying out different objects to freeze!
In Human Biology, students are learning to identify human bones!

NAP-A-THON FUNDRAISER
We’re excited to announce our first-ever Nap-a-Thon, a fun and relaxing fundraiser for our middle and high school students! Instead of walking laps, students will get to kick back and enjoy a movie day during school on Friday, October 31st.
To participate, students need a minimum donation of $5, but we encourage families to help their class go above and beyond—all proceeds support each grade's class activities and events!
Prizes will be awarded to students who raise the highest amounts, so every dollar counts.
Don’t miss out on this cozy way to support our students and school community—turn in your donations to your first period teacher by October 30th.
Every student and their family is required to attend an informational College Credit Plus session each school year in order to begin, or continue with CCP.
Options for these sessions for students wishing to do CCP in school year 2026-2027 are below:
