Fantastic Fall Fun
Continuing to bring joy and memories at Walt Disney Elementary
What an fantastic weekend we had at Walt Disney Elementary. Thank you to all of our families who came out to enjoy the fall weather and fun at Fall Fest. A lot of hard work and organization went on behind the scenes, led by Mr. Kennedy (shorts) and Ms. Cassidy, to bring the event to life, and from the turn out, it was worth it! It was great to see all the smiling faces on our campus as people took in the day. We are so glad you enjoyed it and look forward to bringing more joy next year. A special thank you to all of the volunteers, including our PTO, who came to set up, supervise, and take down the event.
Pumpkin Decorating Contest
This week was our PTO pumpkin decorating contest, and the turn out was amazing. The creativity displayed by our students and family was great to see. There were winners in 3 different divisions: Pre K-1st, 2nd and 3rd, 4th and 5th. Congratulations to all of the winners, and thank you to everyone who participated. You can find pictures of the pumpkins below.
First Grade Field Trip
Our first-grade students had an amazing time exploring the Franklin Institute during their recent field trip! This was a wonderful educational opportunity for our students to take their learning beyond the classroom, explore new ideas, and experience the excitement of hands-on learning. Field trips like these help bring learning to life while creating memorable moments for our students. Be sure to check out our Facebook and Instagram pages for pictures highlighting this exciting adventure!
Wishtree Last Week
We are approaching the last week of our One Book, One School event with Wishtree, and our hallways are starting to join in on the fun with our very own Red. Let's see if wishes start coming our way. We had our weekly raffle winners again this week. Congratulations, and thank you to all of our students for their enthusiasm and participation! To end the week and book, we will have a building-wide assembly celebration on Friday. Keep up keep turning those pages, and I can't wait to see everyone's reaction to the end.
As always, here are the resources to help you keep up with the story! Be sure to send in your raffle tickets for a chance to win each week.

Costume Parade Day
Our annual Costume Parade is on Friday, October 30th, beginning at 1:45 p.m., with classroom parties to follow! Students should wear their regular school clothes in the morning and bring their costumes in a bag clearly labeled with their name to change into before the parade.
As a reminder, costumes must follow our school dress code and allow students to move safely. Inflatable costumes are permitted for the parade as long as they do not create tripping hazards or obstruct vision. Masks may only be worn during the parade, and costumes should not include weapons or look-alike weapons, excessive gore, or small pieces that could easily be lost. Participation in the parade and party activities is optional. If you prefer that your child not participate, please contact their classroom teacher so alternate arrangements can be made.
Parking: Families planning to watch the parade should park on surrounding side streets where parking is permitted. Please anticipate limited parking availability and allow extra time to find a space. Our school parking lot will not be available for parade visitors. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our school grounds safe and accessible.
Rain Plan: In the event of rain, the outdoor costume parade will be canceled. However, classroom Halloween parties will still take place as scheduled.
A detailed message with reminders and parade route will be sent to families this week. We look forward to a fun and memorable afternoon with our Disney Dragons!

These are the moments that make Walt Disney Elementary such a special place. Volunteer Clearances
All individuals interested in volunteering in the Pennsbury School District are required to have clearances on file in the office. This includes individuals that are interested in working at school events such as parties, field trips, classroom events, PTO events, etc. While events such as field trips do not occur until the middle to end of the school year, we encourage all parents/guardians to apply for their clearances immediately. Individuals that do not have clearances on file in the office can not be chosen as chaperones or volunteer at any other school function. Once you have obtained all required clearances, you must upload them into our volunteer tracker App Garden. If you have previously submitted clearances to the school and were an approved volunteer, you are still required to complete the Volunteer Affirmation Form. Individuals are not considered an approved volunteer until that form is submitted each year. Parents/guardians are highly encouraged to check their clearance expiration dates. We have several individuals that currently have expired clearances on file. For more information about required clearances click Volunteer Clearances.
