Perserverance

This month at school, students are learning about the importance of perseverance—the ability to keep going even when things feel challenging. Perseverance helps children develop confidence, resilience, and a strong belief in their ability to learn and grow.

In classrooms, students are exploring what perseverance looks like in everyday situations, such as trying a new skill, working through a difficult assignment, or learning from mistakes rather than giving up. Teachers are encouraging students to reflect on their efforts, celebrate progress, and understand that struggle is a natural part of learning.

You can help reinforce this lesson at home by:

  • Encouraging your child to keep trying when tasks feel difficult

  • Praising effort and persistence rather than just results

  • Talking about times when you had to work hard to reach a goal

  • Reminding your child that mistakes are opportunities to learn and grow

By working together, we can help students build the perseverance they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. Attached is a newsletter that can explain more of what our students are learning and how you can help.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child’s learning.

Sincerely,
Kim Harding
