🐾 This Week at WHS
HOSA Helps Maintain a Safe and Healthy WHS 👏
Three student leaders with HOSA (Future Healthcare Leaders of America) are helping maintain safe and healthy environments right here at Wenatchee High School. These ladies volunteered their time after school to replace filters, clean screens, and disinfect 41 air purifiers to tackle smoky classroom air.
With aging HVAC systems and persistent wildfire seasons, smoky conditions at WHS have become a tough new normal that impacts students’ health and learning. This work is crucial—and often goes unnoticed. Thank you, Jessie, Nellie, and Vivian for your hard work to keep our school healthy!
On Nov 3, Wenatchee voters will decide the future of WHS by voting on a bond to modernize infrastructure and replace HVAC systems at seven additional schools. For more information about what’s on the ballot, visit WenatcheeSchools.org/Bond
Congresswoman Kim Schrier Visits WHS Student Energy Managers
This week, Wenatchee School District welcomed Congresswoman Kim Schrier to Wenatchee High School for a firsthand look at our phone-free schools policy and Student Energy Managers program.
Student Energy Managers, WHS students employed in a partnership between WSD, Chelan County PUD, and Advanced Energy Management, helped the district avoid an estimated $433,000 in fines from the Washington State Department of Commerce during the last school year. Students work to analyze energy trends and educate the public on ways to minimize energy waste. The program is a model for similar efforts statewide
Thank you to Congresswoman Schrier for taking the time to speak with our Student Energy Managers and learn about the hard work they've put into saving energy across the valley and keeping taxpayer funds right here in our community!

👕 Dress Code Reminder
During the first few weeks of school, we’ve noticed students attending school wearing items that violate our dress code. This includes LA Dodgers merchandise, visible rosaries, and AI/Meta glasses due to demonstrated gang affiliation and class disruption. For more information about student expectations and the WHS dress code, please review the WHS Student Handbook.
🎒 Expectations for Students with Open Periods
WHS students participating in our Accelerated Pathways or Worksite Learning programs may have open periods throughout the school day. We're happy to give students the additional school time to catch up on work for advanced classes, attend work shifts, etc., but there are a few expectations to keep in mind.
- 11th & 12th grade students may leave campus during their open period but must make sure they arrive back to school in time for their next class.
- All students remains on campus during their open period MUST sign in at the Pathways Center to prove they are present in case of an emergency. This is true even if the student plans to work with a teacher during the open period.
🏆 Wenatchee Athletics
Panthers of the Week & Wenatchee Panther Podcast Interviews
Congratulations to the first recipients of Panther of the Week: Logan Grosdidier and Jaxson Garrett! Each week during the 2026-27 school year, Wenatchee Athletics will be celebrating two Panthers of the Week in collaboration with the Wenatchee Panther Podcast. Athletes are nominated by coaches and receive a medal courtesy of Haglund’s Trophies.
This award is based on athletes’ work toward being a great teammate, driven competitor, and responsible communicator. For those teams taking part in the LeadEmUp program, athletes will also be evaluated on whether they are in the “green”. When athletes work hard, they excel on and off the field!
This Week of the Wenatchee Panther Podcast
On the 4th episode of the Wenatchee Panther Podcast, host Eric Granstrom visits with the first Panthers of the Week Logan Grosdidier and Jaxson Garrett as well as Cross Country & Track Coach Steve Roche, future Hall of Famer Dale Blair, Slowpitch Softball Coach Taylor Files and senior shortstop Haidyn Delaney.
⚽ Logan Grosdidier, Varsity Girls Soccer
Logan is entering her 3rd season as captain, cementing herself as an outstanding leader for Panther Soccer. She opened this year’s season with 5 goals against Selah and has been a top contributor to the program since her freshman year. Logan shows up daily, outworks everyone, constantly raises the bar for her team, encourages players, leads by example, and academically maintains a 4.0 – all while traveling across the world to compete in skiing.
🏈 Jaxson Garrett, Varsity Football
Jaxson is a supportive teammate, never complains, and works extremely hard. He shows up to practice every day with a great attitude and is always striving to become a better football player by raising the bar at both practices and games. Jaxson has worked extremely hard in the offseason to improve as a player and it’s evident on the field. He had his best performance as a Panther last week in the football game at Linfield Christian, leading the team in tackles and playing with tremendous effort throughout the entire game. The best part was that it was also his birthday!
