Halloween Parade
Friday, October 30th @ 2:00pm
Our Halloween parade is happening Friday, October 30, starting at 2:00 PM!
Kindergarten will start walking the parade route at 2:00 PM, with each grade joining in 5 minute increments after kindergarten.
Students will stay with their class for the whole parade.
Parents attending the parade must get a visitor pass from the office and show a photo ID. The office will begin the parent check-in process at 1:15 PM. You may pre-register with the link below so your pass is ready at arrival and you won't have to wait in line to fill out the visitor information.
Parade viewing for all parents and families will be in the side parking lot near the bus doors. The lot will be closed to traffic, with cones lining the parade route for student safety.
Student Check Out -
IF you plan to check your student out early right after the parade
THIS IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW:
Any parent wishing to take their child home after the parade must complete the Google Form below by 10:00 AM on Friday, October 30. Students on the form will automatically come to the gym after they are done walking in the parade. You will pick your student up from the gym - this will allow us to keep our entrance crowd free.
The gym doors will open immediately after the parade, and there will be a cone with each teacher’s name on it. We ask that the parents go stand behind their child's teacher cone. If you have multiple children, please stand by the cone of your youngest student
Halloween Expectations and Guidelines to Follow for Friday, October 30th
Costume FYI as you may start preparing for the Holiday:
All students are welcome to wear or bring their costume on Friday, October 30th.
We plan to do a school wide parade either through the hallways or outside (weather pending) to showcase our holiday spirit towards the end of the school day.
There are two options when thinking about your student and their costume on 10/30.
1. Your student can wear their costume to school. This option would mean they are able to use the restroom on their own, without any zipper or assistance, when needing to go. They are still able to learn and complete work as needed in their costume.
2. Your student can bring their costume. If your student brings their costume, there will be time dedicated before the school parade for them to change into. This option would only be doable if your student is able to dress themselves into their own costume independently.
General MVR3 Guidelines to be aware of and follow:
-No weapon or toys/accessories
-No face paint or masks
-No Inflatable costumes (these are unsafe in a school setting, causing a tripping hazard along with other worries)
-No scary or gory like costumes
Red Ribbon Week
Veteran's Day - November 11th
We are honored to celebrate the Veterans and active-duty service members in our Zitzman family on Wednesday, November 11 from 10:00–11:00 AM.
Guests will enjoy a catered breakfast with their Zitzman student, vote in our Veterans Day Poster Contest, and take part in a special student-led ceremony. We will recognize each Veteran’s branch of service and years served before ending with our school-wide Veterans Clap-Out.
If you have a Veteran or active service member in your family who would like to attend, please complete the Google Form below by Friday, November 6.

From me to you...
This week is a good reminder that school is about more than what happens in the classroom. We work hard every day on learning and growth, and Tuesday’s Student Learning Night is a chance to share some of that with you. I hope you can join us at 6:00 and see what your children have been working on.
And there’s plenty of fun mixed in, too: field trips, Family Tribe Day, the Halloween parade, and Trunk or Treat. Our teachers and staff will be putting in long days and late evenings, and many will be right here with our kids and families, making the kind of memories that make school feel special. I know how much care goes into those moments, and how hard our staff works to make every second count for kids.
That’s what I love about this community. Learning matters, but so do the connections we build along the way. I hope you get to be part of some of the fun this week.
