We are just 2 weeks away from the start of school! Our new teachers started their professional learning today and the rest of our teaching staff return on Monday. We are eager to prepare for our Annetta Bearcats as we journey into the best year yet!!

FAQs

When will we find out who our child's teacher will be?

On Friday, August 7, teachers will send a welcome email to introduce themselves to you (and your child). Emails will be sent around 3 PM.

Will we be able to walk our child in on the first day of school?

To maintain the safety and security of our students, we will begin our traditional morning drop off on the first day. We have done this for the past few years and the kids have always done AMAZING! Kinder Kamp and Meet the Teacher are great opportunities for you and your child to become familiar with our campus.

When can I begin eating lunch with my child?

In the first few days, we are busy teaching procedures and routines. To allow our students to become familiar with these important procedures, our campus will be closed to visitors the first three days. On August 17, parents are welcome to visit for lunch.

If we want to volunteer, will we need to attend a training?

To volunteer (this includes attending field trips, reading on Aledo Reads Day and other opportunities), a parent will need to:

Attend Volunteer 101
Complete a Background Check
Digitally Sign the Volunteer Handbook Acknowledgement Form

These requirements are required every year (even if you just did this in May).

When will the volunteer trainings be offered?

There will be volunteer trainings offered monthly. We will be providing all of the dates for the year very soon!

Kinder Kamp

Kinder Kamp is for any incoming Annetta kindergartner! Please help us know when you'll be joining us. RSVP below.

During Kinder Kamp, incoming kindergarten students will rotate through a variety of stations with our kindergarten teachers. These activities help our teachers get to know each child and provide valuable insight as we work to create balanced classes and ensure a successful start to the school year.

While students are with the teachers, parents will meet with Mrs. Elgin and Mrs. Bundy in the library. During this time, you'll have the opportunity to connect with other kindergarten families, complete Volunteer 101 training, tour the school, and learn more about what to expect in the upcoming school year. Our goal is for you to leave feeling informed, connected, and excited for your child's kindergarten journey!

Please note time adjustments! Each session will be 1 hr, rather than 1.5 hrs.
