Planning Ahead For A Great Year

Greetings Bobcat families.

We hope that you’ve had a wonderful summer with your family. We are so excited about the start of the 2026-2027 school year. It was so nice to see the majority of our Bobcat families at Open House last week. We sincerely appreciate your continued support if your child and our school.

As we get ready to begin the new school year, we want to partner with you for your child’s success by providing information to help you and your child feel well-prepared to start the school year.

We are so excited about the wonderful things that are happening here at MVES. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve your family. Go Bobcats!

Bus Information

Student safety is always our first priority on the bus. Students should remain in their assigned seat and use an inside-voice level on the bus in order to avoid distracting the bus driver. All of our school buses are equipped with seatbelts. Students should avoid bringing drinks, food, or candy on the bus. Cell phones are also prohibited on the bus and in classrooms. Please be flexible and patient with bus times the first few weeks as we add students and drivers become accustomed to the routes.

Car Rider Drop Off Information

Student safety is always our first priority. Car rider students in Kinder through 5th may be dropped off at 7:15 am in the car rider line in front of the building. Please stay in your car to drop off students. Parents dropping off in the morning should form two lines of traffic coming into the school and then merge into a single line in the curve. Staff will be on duty to open car doors and support students traveling to class.

We have changed our afternoon traffic pattern for this school year. When arriving on campus for afternoon car dismissal, please remain in your vehicle in the car rider line. Cars in the afternoon will form three lines and a staff member will help cars merge into two lines for pick up. We will be double stacking the pick up line. Please have your car rider tag clearly visible in your vehicle so the staff member calling students can easily read it. Please list your child's name, homeroom, and grade level on your tag. Identification may be required to pick up your child. Please be patient as we all work through these changes together.

Pre-K parents must park in the designated Pre-K parking on the back side of the building and walk their child to the classroom door to be signed in. Pre-K parents should pick up their child using the designated space in the back parking lot as well.

Student Dress Code

Please make sure that students wear clothing and shoes that are comfortable for school. Closed-toed tennis shoes are preferred on PE days. Halter tops, midriff tops, strapless or spaghetti straps, pajamas, slashed/cut-up clothing, and clothing with offensive language, disruptive images, or ethnic slurs are not allowed at Mountain View Elementary. Shorts and skirts should be finger tip length. Any questionable items of clothing will be left to the discretion of the principal. Please label your child’s coat, jacket, sweater or other items of clothing that may be removed during the school day so that it can be easily returned if misplaced.
