Just a reminder that WRV does have an ANONYMOUS tip line.
To access this tip line, dial the WRV High School @ 812-659-2274, Press #2 to access the voicemail, at the prompt enter the requested extension number #152, leave your message, press # to send your message.
This line goes directly to all three of our school police officers. They are the only individuals who have access to the information submitted through the tip line and will review and address any concerns as necessary.
Please also let your student know that they are welcome to email Bobby Pierce
( bpierce@wrv.k12.in.us ) directly if they have information or concerns they would like to share. We want students to feel comfortable coming forward in whatever way they feel the most comfortable.
It is very important all students know the importance of "SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING."
Principal's POV
We were so honored to have Kevin Rader, retired Newscaster who covered the 9/11 tragedy, at WRVHS to speak to our students about his experience on that life-altering day. No, this group of young people do not remember that day, but along with those of us who remember, can learn from the events that occurred. These events were a direct attack on our freedom and livelihood. However, we saw pride and strength rise from the ashes. As we educate this generation it is our goal to remind the students that they are blessed to be in a country that can gather to educate its youth and encourage individual successes. It is our hope that those students will in turn contribute to this great country of ours. May we continue to prove our strength by educating and raising students that have a sense of pride in their country, a compassion for their neighbors, and a hope for their futures.
May we never forget!
Mrs. Catlin
Holtsclaw's Happenings
Indiana University will be here next week on Thursday, September 17th during B Lunch
COLLEGE GO WEEK will be September 21-25. During this event many colleges and universities across Indiana will waive their fees, and this is a great time to submit applications. Please see the listed colleges below that will waive their fees. We will be planning fun activities at school to promote awareness.
FAFSA will open Oct 1, 2026. The deadline for completion is April 15, 2027. This is the form that students fill out to get financial help for college and trade schooling. Aid is based on financial need, and needs to be submitted every year the student attends school. Students can create their FAFSA account on https://studentaid.gov at any time. By creating an account now, a student can get a head start to gain access to their Student ID, Parent ID, and will receive a verification email. Ideally, the creation of the account should be completed 1-3 days ahead of filling out the FAFSA form. We will be having a FAFSA HELP NIGHT on December 10 from 6-8 in the Wolverine Center.
Please feel free to contact me at jholtsclaw@wrv.k12.in.us or by calling the school office ext 410 with any questions or concerns.
