The Akron School athletic track was resurfaced over the summer and is now blue. The original track surface was installed in 2007 and lasted 17 years, which, by most expert accounts, is rare since many surfaces need replacement every 10-12 years. The new blue surface looks great and is softer than the original surface. The Akron track is unique in that it’s the only 10-lane track in the state.

Last Saturday, the Lady Rams picked up 2 wins at the Kit Carson Tournament. They were back in play on Tuesday against the Briggsdale Falcons. The Lady Rams didn't pick up a win, but continue to improve with each game.

Keep working Rams!

The MS Lady Rams started their volleyball season on Tuesday vs Briggsdale. The Rams swept Briggsdale, the 3 teams all winning in 2 games. Our D and E teams also got some great experience playing in a inter-squad scrimmage before games began!

Great job to all girls!

On Monday our JV golf team traveled to Wray for their first tournament. The players worked hard and ended up placing 4th.

Tuesday our Varsity golf team also played in Wray and tied for 7th place overall.

Both teams will play again this Friday, August 30th in Holyoke.

Each year Nicki Glosson, Financial Advisor at Edwards Jones, hosts a school supply drive to support the Akron School. Items that were donated this year include, backpacks, pencil boxes, paper, crayons, scissors and note cards.

Thank you Nicki and Edward Jones for your continued support of the Akron Schools.

The Kindergarten class and their teachers, Mrs. Davisson and Mrs. Poss, walked the halls today in search of numbers. The students are working on recognizing numbers in their surroundings and differentiating them from letters.
