Homecoming Week!

October 23, 2026

Meet at the YARD in Urbana from 6pm - 8pm for a Homecoming Open House. Students, families, Alumni, and friends are invited to come in, celebrate Academy High and catch up. There are many different choices at The Yard on Broadway for food and dessert. Several groups want to also celebrate at Parcadia and are welcome to sign up for times or walk over for tee-times of their choice. You may make your own reservations at Parcadia on October 23rd here.

Notes from Ms. Smith

The boys basketball gear store is open now through Body n' Sole! Check out the variety of gear for the students, fans and parents. There are youth and adult sizes available.

We have had a great turnout for Parent/Teacher Conferences. We value your student and appreciate you taking the time out of your days to meet with us.

We will have Fall Bash on Thursday October 29th. We will offer a potluck for students as well as a DJ with karaoke, tournaments, and games. We encourage students and staff to dress up in costumes and enjoy a relaxing afternoon from noon through the end of day. Please sign up here to drop off food for the day or volunteer to help! If anyone has a grill that we could borrow for the afternoon, that would be amazing.

Opportunity for Parent Participation in Listening Session by Alumni Allan Huang:

My name is Allan Huang. I am an alumni of Academy High (Class of 2023), and I am currently working at the University of Illinois' Public Media Center as an intern. I'm working on a project alongside Emily Hays, one of the reporters here who specializes in education. We are hoping to hold a listening session sometime in early to mid-November with Asian-American parents who currently have kids in K-12 (outside of UIUC), where they will get a chance to express their thoughts on the state of Champaign-Urbana's education scene.

Anonymity is available for anyone that requests it, and translators will also be provided if needed. If a group listening session is not possible due to conflicting schedules, we intend to change it to an individual interview session to be held at each participant's convenience.
