Bobcat Families,
Just a few reminders on Attendance and Tardies. Please remember that school starts at 8:00 a.m. allowing students the opportunity to eat breakfast and instruction starts at 8:15 a.m. All absences must be submitted through the Cielo Vista Attendance QR code and medical notes must be submitted within 5 days to excuse the absences including leaving early during the school day.
Please remember that it is important to have our students report to school on time to ensure they participate in the morning routine.
Just a reminder after the 3rd unexcused tardy a Notice of Absences is generated and a Attendance Agreement is developed which could lead to a possible court filing if there is not an improvement.
Please know that we are here to support you and provide any assistance you may need getting your students to school on time. Feel free to contact us 915-236-8375

COUNSELORS CORNER
Kindness
Every day can be an opportunity to show your loved ones that you care in both big and small ways. Practicing random acts of kindness can help children learn empathy and gratitude for the people in their lives. Kindness Week will be observed November 11-November 15, 2024, at our school. World Kindness Day will take place on Wednesday November 13, 2024. It is important that as a school community we take the time to speak to children about the importance of helping and being kind to others. In these challenging times, kindness becomes our guiding light. It is essential to remember the strength we find in unity and compassion. Kindness bridges gaps, brings hope, and reaffirms our shared humanity. As we face adversity, acts of kindness can serve as beacons of light, reminding us that we are not alone and that together, we can overcome any obstacle. As we send home the Kindness Week Calendar, please take a moment to go over it with your child and talk about how they can participate everyday and also discuss other ways kindness can be shown both at home and school. Although we focus on Kindness during the month of November, let’s remind our kids that we should make it a habit to show kindness everyday all year long.
To encourage kindness in kids, parents can incorporate the following simple ideas:
Simple gestures:
- Hold the door open for someone.
- Smile at people you pass by.
- Give a genuine compliment to someone.
- Leave a positive note for someone to find.
Building positive habits:
- Make a conscious effort to say "please" and "thank you".
- Practice active listening when someone is talking to them.
- Encourage sharing and taking turns.
Acts of appreciation:
- Write a thank you card for a teacher or family member.
- Make a small treat for a family member or friend.
- Offer to help a sibling with homework.
Kindness
• Fomente compartir y tomar turnos.
