Attendance Tracking
We do track attendance at Weekend Tumbling.
When the athletes arrive, they are reminded to place a sticker on their team chart to log their attendance.
Individual Athlete Perfect Attendance
We had so many kids in class during out first session - the energy in the gym was amazing!
We will recognize athletes with perfect attendance here each week and at the end of the season at our End of Year Banquet.
Best Team Attendance
We also track attendance by team so that we can recognize AND reward our teams for making weekend tumbling a priority. At the end of each session, the team with the best attendance will earn a special in-practice prize: either a sweet treat or pizza party for the whole team!
It's a close race right now with the top 3 teams, battling it out!
Weekend Class Requirements and Evaluations
Evaluations: Our Staff will be doing skill evaluations several times during our weekend tumbling classes. Our goal is always to share feedback and help the athletes continue to progress.
Remaining Evaluation Days this Season:
- November 14th
- December 19th
- January 30th
- February 13th
TUMBLING EXECUTION AND SCORING
Understanding the "why" behind the drills and corrections
At Victory, we are committed to developing strong, confident tumblers with excellent technique. As we work with athletes in the gym, we often use specific tumbling "lingo" that we want our families to understand as well. Athletes' ability to master every part of a skill, from beginning to end, is what determines whether the skill is "Routine Ready." This is an important part of the routine building process during choreography.
Most of this language comes directly from the way tumbling is evaluated in competition. Judges award (or deduct) points based on four main categories, referred to as drivers:
Approach • Body Control • Landings • Sync
Understanding these drivers helps athletes and families better understand what great technique looks like and why we focus on certain corrections and drills in practice.
The graphic below is designed to provide more insight into each of these drivers and how they contribute to successful, routine-ready tumbling.

Tumbling Skill Cards
These cards are designed to help athletes better understand the full range of skills at each level while giving them a fun, motivating way to set goals and celebrate progress. Rather than focusing on just one or two "big" skills, athletes can work toward mastering as many skills as possible within their level.
In addition to checking off new skills at each level, we now have GONG cards so each athlete can work on mastering the skills in each level!
