Dear WCHE Families,

At West Cypress Hills Elementary, we believe that moving From Growth to Greatness means listening, reflecting, and improving together. Because we are Driven by Pride, Strengthened by Resilience, and Led by Heart, your voice plays an essential role in our journey.

The 2025–2026 Parent Survey is now open, and we are once again asking for your partnership. Last year, WCHE families had one of the highest participation rates in the District. Your thoughtful feedback helped us celebrate what we are doing well and identify meaningful areas for growth. We are incredibly proud of that collaboration — and we need your insight again this year.

Purpose

Your feedback helps us:

  • Celebrate strengths

  • Identify areas for improvement

  • Guide campus and district decision-making

  • Better support every student and family

Opens: Tuesday, February 17

Closes: Thursday, March 6

Confidentiality

Survey responses will be handled in a confidential manner, to the extent permitted by law, and used only for campus and district planning and decision-making. The survey does not ask for names, email addresses, or other direct identifiers. Results will be reported in aggregate form.

To the extent required by law, the District may need to disclose responsive information. In that case, the District will withhold or redact information as required by applicable law.

We truly value your partnership and perspective. When we listen to one another, we grow stronger together — and that is how we move from growth to greatness.

Thank you for taking a few minutes to support our school community.

With gratitude,

Ms. Amy Russ

Attention LTISD Parents and Guardians,

The Discovery Program, otherwise known as Gifted and Talented, is now accepting parent referrals for KINDERGARTEN G/T Screening via this Google form.

The Elementary Discovery Program is a cross-curricular thematic-based pullout program for students in grades K-5. Participating students will demonstrate skills in self-directed learning, thinking, research, and communication as evidenced by the development of innovative products and performances that reflect individuality and creativity and are advanced in relation to students of similar age, experience, or environment. To be identified as gifted and talented, each student must undergo a screening and selection process. Assessment opportunities are made available once per school year.

If you feel your child is a good candidate for the G/T screening process, please fill out the link below. The deadline to register is March 12 at 3 pm. More information about the program can be found on the Lake Travis ISD Gifted & Talented website.

School Library Advisory Council School Library Advisory Council

In response to Senate Bill 13, our Board of Trustees has established the Lake Travis ISD School Library Advisory Council (SLAC.) The purpose of the SLAC is to formalize a collaborative process between librarians, parents, and community members in the ongoing development of strong library collections that support student achievement and meet state standards. This process helps ensure transparency, parent involvement, and a strong library program that strengthens student achievement while nurturing a lifelong appreciation, habit, and love of reading.

The SLAC works with librarians and district staff to develop a recommended list of library materials for procurement, including donated titles. At least 30 days before the Board’s vote, the proposed procurement list will be made publicly available for parents and community members to review and provide feedback. The Board will review these recommendations, consider any proposed changes, and make the final decision to approve or reject the materials. The SLAC will also recommend procedures for handling challenges to library materials and review challenges according to law before making recommendations to the Board.

Visit the SLAC webpage to access the Proposed Titles for Library Procurement List, Proposed Titles for Library Procurement List Feedback Form, and the Library Materials Challenge Form.

For questions or additional information regarding SLAC reviews or library material challenges, please contact Tasha Barker at watersbarkert@ltisdschools.org, or at 512-533-6036.
