🎃 School Update 🎃 🎃 School Update 🎃

We have a lot of exciting things going on. We had our second visit to Fox Valley Tech memory project. Students had lunch with the participants, viewed antiques and tried to guess what they were, they then played a game. We took our field trip to Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES). The students learned about magnificent mammals, pond life and forest for the trees. During magnificent mammals, students learned the difference between mammals and non-mammals. They were able to look at a variety of furs and discussed the reasons for different textures and colors. Pond life students learned about the different insects found in the pond and the benefits they provide to the ecosystem. Forest for the trees, students learned about the different layers of the forest and the animals that live within each layer. Fire prevention week is Oct 6th to Oct 12th. During this time students will learn about the different types of fires, flammable liquids, kitchen safety and what to do in an emergency situation. We will also have a guest speaker from the Waupaca Fire department. 😊

The children all got to design pictures of donuts before painting, and gluing on “sprinkles”. After they got to take donut themed coloring pages, and a donut treat the next morning.

We were inspired by Eric Carle, and painted "TC Pets" with acrylics. We then used items from nature (sticks, leaves, grass, rocks, acorns, pine needles) and items from around the unit (rags, yarn, legos, paper towels) to create interesting patterns and textures.

The animals chosen for this project either live at or have visited TC, and include Goldie, Classroom Fish #1, Henry, Muddy Chocolate, Oreo, Hershey, Sutter, and Whiskers.

We worked with watercolor and created a galaxy background. Then the kids drew aliens in the spaceship and worked on cutting out the shape. They then all got to pick a fun pose to join their alien in the spaceship.

The clients and I discussed favorite music genres, favorite songs, and personal experiences with musical instruments!! We each decorated a music note from out selection, with tissue paper, expressing ourselves through the colors and different textures! We added music lyrics from some of our favorite songs as well.

We turned ourselves into skeletons getting into the fall and Halloween mood. They got to cut out pictures of there faces and then glue on Q-tips to make it look like they were skeletons!!
