Message from Mrs. Tostaine
Eagle Families,
Time goes by so quickly. We are completing our first quarter next week and heading into Fall Break. Students and teachers have been working hard and we are seeing the benefits. We are working on our end of the quarter incentives that will happen the week we return from Fall Break. Dr. Apple is also working on a school wide celebration from our results on IRead and ILearn last spring. Those results have finally been shared. I am so proud of all the work that our staff, students and parents put in last year.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Mrs. Tostaine
Arrival
Car rider expectations for the safety of our students.
- Stay in line and do not go around the car in front of a car who is still unloading. We are concerned for the safety of all students as some exit the car from both sides.
- Pull as far forward at all times which will help us with a smooth and efficient arrival.
- All car riders should enter the parking lot and follow the line of cars toward the Elementary school.

Volunteer Background Check Information
This is a new process and everyone needs to have a background check if you want to volunteer or chaperone at school. This background check will be good for three years.
Please note: If you are currently employed by Lanesville Community School Corporation (teacher, substitute teacher, paid coach, or other staff member), you do not need to complete the volunteer background check, as you already have an employment background check on file.
Important Information:
- Cost: $23.40
- Valid for: 3 years
- Processing Time: 5–10 business days
- Background Check Portal: https://lanesville-community-school-corporation-vol-sp.school-background-checks.com/
All personal information submitted is kept confidential and is used solely for the purpose of ensuring student safety. Please be aware: The background check is a multi-step process. After submitting your information, you will receive two separate emails from KidTraks Support—one containing a link and another containing your password. You must complete the final step within 10 days or your application may expire and need to be restarted.
If you think you may volunteer at any point during the school year, we encourage you to complete your background check before school begins.
Are you having issues applying for the background check? Use this guide to help with any issues. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1z0GNIWy5ULYJjxGdNsuAa2NYSkwE08-Soz6zvQuCndo/edit?tab=t.0
