Shout Outs Shout Outs

Congratulations to our Students of the Week!

  • Olivia Robinson – 10th grade – nominated by Mrs. Bolen – She says of Olivia, “Olivia has a learner's mindset and has shown critical thinking skills in Biology. She is able to take the content we are learning and put together complex ideas about the world around her as well as what's happening in her own body. Olivia has put a lot of time and effort into learning Biology and holds herself responsible for learning and growing as a student. I am so thankful to have Olivia in my Biology 1 class.”
  • Ivy Wireko – 11th grade - nominated by Mr. Henderson – He says of Ivy, “Ivy has a learner’s mindset. She has set a standard for herself in Honors Math 3. She asks questions and works hard on all assignments so that she ensures herself the highest grade possible in the class.”

Congratulations to both of these students!

Students were able to sit in and explore a new model of a private jet in the design stage right now and give their seal of approval. They even tested out the cockpit of the model plane. Afterwards, GTCC provided lunch and students learned about the NC FAME program that provides college coursework with paid, on-the-job training and experience with world class companies.
