Hello all,

Students and staff had a blast yesterday during Winter Carnival. This was my first "Carnival" experience as an LMS staff member, and it did NOT disappoint. So much fun, so many smiles...this tradition is a great way to strengthen our LMS community and send us off into February break. I'd like to thank all the teachers and staff members for creating this experience for our students.

We also had an amazing in-house performance by Recycled Percussion last week. It's been a fun couple of weeks! I hope everyone has a joyful break.

This is a friendly reminder that Period 1 starts at 7:30 at LMS. Students are expected to be in their 1st class by 7:30. Students entering the building at 7:30 will not be able to arrive to their 1st period class by 7:30, and will be marked tardy. We recognize that it can be a challenge to get everyone out the door on time in the morning, and we appreciate everyone's efforts to do so.

Staff and students were treated to an exciting and unique experience with Recycled Percussion coming to perform at LMS. We even made the news! You can see that story here (with highlights from our "Teacher Dance-off"), and below are some pictures from the event, including the schoolwide dance party, which was a huge hit.

We're trying something a little different for our Student Council-sponsored spirit days. To give us all something extra to look forward to after February Break, we'll be having two spirit days during our first week back. Tuesday, February 25th will be Tropical Island Day, and Thursday, February 27th will be Twin Day. All are invited and encouraged to participate in these fun days! Many thanks to the Student Council for sponsoring!

Student Council Members created a space for students to share "kind" messages with each other and with the whole school. There were a lot of great messages written. We have so many kind and wonderful students here at LMS, and this was a wonderful way to give them a chance to share something kind. Thank you, Student Council!

Seismic Slinky (Earthquake Wave Modeling)

Pictures from Ms. Lenning's class's Hood field trip on Friday, January 31st. The focus was flowers in art. Students learned about the language of or meaning attributed to flowers. In the lab, students made paper flowers using texture rubbings and painted misted onto the paper.

Leb Rec's annual Shamrock Shuffle is Saturday, March 15th! Last year, we had an LMS crew that wore green headbands and wristbands to show our community. I still have a lot of those headbands and wristbands, and I'll be promoting this event with the students starting next week. This is always a fun event that gets people moving on a March Saturday morning, and builds up our Lebanon community.

Ms. Nikki Small had the vision, and Mr. Renninger helped make it come to life! The conference room in our office has undergone a makeover (still a couple last touches to finish up), and we are very happy with the results. Travel to France and Spain over the April 2026 break!

Ms. Thaxton & Mrs. Vallelian at LHS would love to have students join them over April vacation 2026 to visit Barcelona, the Provence region, and Paris. Highlights include - Barcelona: Sagrada Familia tour, Parc Güell; Provence region: Nîmes Roman Arena, Musée de la Romanité, Pont du Gard; Paris: Louvre, top-floor of the Eiffel Tower, Versailles Chateau & Gardens. This trip is open to ALL LHS students (and current LMS 8th graders/rising LHS 9th graders), regardless of whether you take a foreign language. For more information about the trip and to register, click here. Place a $200 deposit by April 1st (of this year) for a price guarantee.
